Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy summed up the disgusting farce in a tweet:
There’s a dark but hard TRUTH to the Maui catastrophe that has led to over 110 tragic deaths.
As wildfires raged, desperate residents petitioned state officials to send more water for firefighting & to help protect their properties from fire.
That request went unanswered for hours, withholding critical aid to islanders. Now we’re learning that the official who delayed the approval is an Obama Foundation "Asia Pacific Leader" & a climate activist who believes water should be “revered” first and foremost.
The DEI agenda is literally costing people their lives.

MSG Thomas Currie - he's not my favorite person but have you ever tried to get a civilian fired. Anything short of murder in public is almost impossible. I managed to remove two of them; civilian personnel said I was the first person in the previous 25 years to do so in that organization. Initally, they said I couldn't. It took 8 months on one and 10 on the other but I made it happen.

DEI/ Sociopathic environmentalists ; 2 things which contradict each-other. One is pro-segregation , saving the Stupid, and the other is anti mankind in the fact they choose the environment over human lives.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - If the Civilian Personnel Office told you you couldn't fire them, either you didn't have a documented reason to fire them or you had an incompetent CPO. (I'd suspect it was a bit of both.) Yes, it can take time to fire a civil service employee if they are being fired for incompetence or laziness. Have you ever tried to fire an airman for incompetence or laziness? Is that really any faster? In either case, the system starts from the assumption that the person needs to get training and time to improve.
As a person who had a lot of years inside both systems I will say that the biggest problem with the civilian personnel system within the military is that so many military bosses refuse to learn anything about how the system works (many also refuse to learn much about how the military personnel system works, but they have a dedicated admin section to fix the messes they make). Admittedly, yes, in the military it is quicker and easier for a boss to totally destroy someone's career just because one of them has a bad day.
I spent a lot of my civilian career as the guy who worked the system to get the commander what he wanted. Some of the people at CPO weren't fond of me because I could cite the regulations as well as or better than they could. Usually I could get the commander what he wanted, most of the time it was just a matter of knowing the regs, occasionally it took gaming the system, every once in a while I had to explain to the boss that we couldn't do what he wanted, but I could almost always find some other way to accomplish what needed done.

Welcome to another democrat led utopia.
I'll go too far. At least the democrats won't lose those 110 votes for a few election cycles.
I know where to go and how long to stay.
