Thanks for the comment SSG Livingston. I laughed a lot harder than I should have at the Forest Whitaker Eye.

One of my classmates asked me about the physical qualifications for US Navy service. When I got to the part about swimming (properly), treading water, and doing the "dead man's float", her eyes got huge as she said "What??? That's RACIST!!!"

I asked her what she meant, thinking the "dead man's float" term had become banned while I was asleep or something. Nope. She meant that being required to swim, and to float, was racist. It was her contention that "black folk just sink" and that you'd never catch a black girl near a swimming pool because the chlorine will mess up her hair. Did I mention she was black?

I thought nothing of it at the time and let the conversation die. Three weeks later, she's down at University of Minnesota trying to rally up some people to go picket the US Navy Recruiter's office (and maybe MEPS) so they could get rid of "that racist swim qual".

I suppose the 1.5 Mile Run is prejudicial against fat people and people with flat feet? Maybe the max age limit for recruits is prejudicial against seasoned citizens? I guess the background checks unfairly disadvantage felons?

It would be one thing if this was one or two people, but it's not. People see racism in the oddest places. It's almost like they don't have any idea what it actually means, and have no perspective whatsoever.

SSG (Join to see) - I actually asked the "professor" if I could respond. She knew I was a veteran and from my papers knew me to be rationally conservative, so she - of course - shut me down. The last thing she wanted in class was an open discussion about a timely topic - one that actually dealt with classroom material. According to her own words, however, she didn't want to open up a can of worms that might cause people to feel triggered.

SSG (Join to see) - Not at all. It was a class, and the "professor" had a duty to facilitate that class to the best of her ability. This wasn't about freedom of speech as much as it was about not allowing the class to degrade into a base argument. I was fine with that.

That said, you can bet I was fuming a bit when I found out that my classmate learned that tidbit about racism from another class. Yep.

WUT: College Student Explains Why Milk Is Racist

Wow...so since I'm severely allergic to milk, does that mean I'm automatically not a racist? What about people who drink chocolate milk? Or did anybody ever put the strawberry qwik in their milk when they were kids? Hhhhhmmmmm

GySgt Melissa Gravila - I think that's where the racism claims stem from. Apparently, someone convinced a bunch of idiots that minorities have more chance of dairy issues than white people. As such, drinking milk is supposedly like saying "I'm better than you because I can do something you can't." That's just...Well, it's partially supported by idiots on the "racist jerkwad" side as they've actually paraded around with milk saying exactly that. But that doesn't make drinking milk racist, it just makes a case that those guys are jerkwads.

These people - the folks that actually defend the idea that milk is racist - have a major issue. They can't separate the object (the milk) from the action (the racial taunting). Just as they can't separate the gun from the murder, the computer from the piracy, or the Big Mac from the overeating. One is an object doesn't have a moral or immoral component, and the other is the activity that does. I'm racist because I drink milk, and you're not because you can't/don't. This means that ANY object that can be used for immoral or illegal means is automatically tied to those means and therefore forbidden. That includes specific words as well.

These people have no perspective. They really just need to calm the hell down, find their grandkids/kids/nieces/nephews/cousins/little siblings and spend some time playing with them. Perspective comes so easily when you see life through the eyes of a laughing child. That kid will drink milk without a racist thought, which should be enough for anyone to put this to bed.

I guess I was racist the day I was born, after all. And since people of all colors and shapes drink milk, racism must be a really diverse thing! So I'm confused - am I both a racist and willingly part of a diverse, multicultural group at the same time?

Ok one of my arguments to this would be to anyone African American who has not had their DNA tested! Get it done! Because before the black slave trade came to America the Irish slave trade (and no, not indentured servants!) was prominent the first 100 years! When they started bringing over African slaves they decided to force Irish and African "Slaves" to breed so they could create the perfect "slave"!!!! So yes, drink milk if your ancestry was here and has been here within the last 300 years!!! 80% something of the "African American" population in the United States has Irish. Which is white. So you might want to check for osteoporosis!!! And with all the mixed races now of days! Don't matter if white, brown, yellow, pink, muave or whatever!!! milk is not going to hurt you! And last I checked when I breast fed my babies, that shit came out yellow then white! So blame God for making every creature that feeds their live babies milk for making it white!!!
Ok the Zombies need to start in southern Cali! Shits just stupid!!

And then there's this fact that seems to be ignored regarding African slavery. There's a lot of blame to go around, but the left only targets one demographic. The people of African decent seem to accept the kings apology, but all white people alive today who have never owned a slave are to blame for the sins of the past.

Cpl (Join to see) - You know the funny thing about that whole story in my family tree! After they were granted their freedom they were given land, a plantation and black slaves in turn for their noble services to the revolution!! I'm like totally mind blown!!!

It's too bad they did not let Joe McCarthy continue his Witch Hunt ... he was on the Right trail and Most off this crap would Not be going on ...

the other Thin is the Morons are Quoting or Citing "Mother Jones" as a Valid source of Information and Knowledge...
As "Buggs" Used to say... "What a Bunch Of Maroons..."

..."... The Mother Jones article states that not only is milk non-beneficial to Africans, but following the guidelines may actually be detrimental to their health. There is a strong correlation to calcium consumption and an increased risk of prostate cancer, unproportionally affecting African men. Furthermore, both black children and adults generally secrete less calcium on a daily basis than white people, making them less dependent upon milk. ..."...

The only problem with that is that he was s fraud with a fake list who showed up to most hearing drunk, the booze killed him not long after Ike nailed his ass to the floor.
The man was willing to destroy the Army leadership and whomever else it took simply for personal power. But I guess that is why you admire him.

The headline alone is the greatest thing ever. I needed a minute to regather myself after laughing and rereading it a few times.

Okay.

On one hand, milk, along with many other products in the food industry, has been demonized because of GMO's and unnatural processing along with their effects on people - regardless of ethnicity.

On the other hand, what about almond milk? Soy milk?

This is all about dairy, with a supposed link to minorities having a higher incidence of dairy allergies and white-supremacists supposedly taunting them with it by drinking milk.

I know, right? The depths of stupidity these folks will sink to is simply astounding.
