Good article with some interesting points.... logistics and bigger platforms is not going to get any easier. The German problem hit before Russia.. it was operating in France and low countries, and then in Yugoslavia and Greece and in North Africa that fractured the old system before it got splintered on the Eastern Front. But great points!

Spot on about the maintenance and logistics of German tanks. What I fear is technology grows exponentially, and it may change wars tactically and strategically.

Good article on the challenges facing our Armored Forces if a European conflict kicks off.... a follow on article to this should focus on what we can do to counter this immediately as vehicle design and manufacturing take time.
What can we do as light forces to counter their armor that will be more readily available? Our adversary in Iraq and Afghanistan made effective use of RPG's against many of our smaller armored platforms, perhaps a smaller more effective missile or RPG for us would help level the playing field.

We got the Javelin... and maybe such an article could take that into account on the lines of what you were describing. How do we increase the lethality in the light forces and not overload them as well as overload the logistics. And how do we better task organize to gain that with forces we have already on hand. A decade ago we did Light/Hvy.. but can not recall a Light/MED type of TF. USMC pretty much leads the way in such force design.
