I am currently surving in Korea. I will be pcsing this coming May. I would like to put in a DA 4187 for a school enroute and see if the "big Army" will pay for it. Im having trouble with how it should be done. If anyone could help me out in any way it would be greatly appreciated!

SSG (Join to see), just like CPT (Join to see) already asked we would need more details about your PCS move and what type of school you are requesting. Typically, TDY enroute schools are scheduled because the gaining unit you are being assigned to has requires a specific skill (ASI or SQI) requirement on the MTOE/TDA that someone of your MOS and skill level must have. The most common school personnel attend TDY enroute is PME (Professional Military Education) school, ie. ALC, SLC, CCC. On a side note, "Big Army" doesn't totally pay for the school either, the losing unit still is charged for some of the expense from their MTSA funds.

SGT Jalen Swanson - Have you contacted your branch manager? That would be the first step as your PDNCO would be able to help guide you in the right direction. A lot depends on what school you are trying to get? Is it a skill identifier producing school and will you be working in that coded position at your next duty station? The money will come from one of three sources; your losing unit, your gaining unit, or "the Army". Call branch and speak with your PDNCO and see if he/she can help you. If you don't get an answer message me with the details and I will try to help you out.

Schools en-route can depend on your MOS, PCS assignment, and job.
Can you provide any additional details?
