I didn't know that Senator Lindsey Graham was a colonel in the US Air Force Reserve.

LTC (Join to see) It's very interesting and enlightening to find out how many of the earlier Hollywood stars or active participants in the Second World War as well as Korea. Obviously, times have changed greatly!

LTC (Join to see) - Actually Jimmy Stewart did retire as a Brigadier General, the information about Him being a Major General is not correct. He retired as a Brigadier General in 1968 at age 60. Your late father is law was correct on his information. Prior to his commission as a 2Lt He had been a private, Private First Class then a Corporal. He then held all the officer ranks from 2Lt up to and including Brigadier General. Also Jimmy Stewart was not drafted into the Army, He attempted to enlist but was rejected due to weight. He did finally succeed in entering the service. Jimmy Stewart was also Commander of a Bomb Wing and a pilot on a B24 Liberator and flew 20 combat missions with the 8th Air Force during WWII. The Missions flow by Jimmy Stewart included a bombing mission in a B24 on the D Day invasion . Prior to WWII service in Europe He was an instructor pilot in a B17. Also Jimmy Stewart had served as a Bomb Squadron Commander, an Operations Officer actually planning missions and a Commander of a bomb wing as a Colonel. His policy toward the press, they were not allowed on His base, He said they were a distraction and We had a war to fight. He also would not give interviews.

A book You may want to read is Jimmy Stewart, Bomber pilot written by Starr Smith with a forward by Walter Cronkite. The author Starr Smith was a Combat Intelligence Officer with he 8th Air Force in WWII. I have read that book and still have My own copy in my home library.

Yes he was a JAG. A couple of years he went to Afghanistan on a CODEL (Congressional Delegation) after it was concluded, he stayed 2 additional weeks and performed Annual Training in Afghanistan. Pretty unique and pretty cool regardless of what you think of his politics.

Sir, I've been catching up on all his discussions concerning the Kavanaugh situation. He's a very eloquent man who tries to maintain friendships with the people on the other side of the aisle. I didn't know that him and John McCain were best friends. It's great to see that there is somebody in the Senate who knows a lot about law just like congresswoman McSally as being a subject matter expert on the capabilities of the A-10 Warthog. She saved the warthog and he saved judge Kavanaugh because he was putting Common Sense back into the Senate.
