Did you keep your basic training graduation book?

Does anyone still have their "year book" from basic. Hop in the way back machine and post your pic.

SPC David S. Yes, fighting positions were actually built UPWARDS using dinosaur turd fossils. Dirt was relatively new.

SPC David S., this is not mine, but my father's graduation book. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Reserve Midshipmen's School in New York City and was commissioned an Ensign on 29JUN44! The book was entitled Side Boy. (A side boy is a member of an even-numbered group of seamen posted in two rows on the quarterdeck when a visiting dignitary boards or leaves the ship, historically to help (or even hoist) him aboard, in a ceremony known as "tending the side". Presently, side boys are used only for ceremonial purposes and not always aboard ships.)

CMDCM Gene Treants, I cheated and used a Wikipedia article! I have my father's entire career well chronicled on Navy TWS. Just search Jack Curlee and you'll find him. I interviewed him many times over the years and have his service file and many photos. Take a look!
