Undisciplined lieutenants?
Here's how I would like to address how we approach discipline within our officer ranks. It all starts from the beginning - BOLC. Take away their car privileges. ONLY march or bus to and from the schoolhouse, just like the rest of us did in BCT. Make them wear camelbacks, as well. No growing of the hair until after training to make them all dress right dressed. Let them endure regular smoke sessions when they keep interrupting instructors, putting hands in pockets, and calling each other by their first names. I understand they're not privates and "big boy game, big boy rules", but all I see are a bunch of undisciplined privates with a little more rank. I hate seeing officer start off as having to set the example and the standard when they don't even act like it. As a PSG, I've tried to mentor my 3rd new PL and he just doesn't want to listen to what I say and thinks everything's all about work and doesn't bother to let the troops make time for civilian education, their own families, and their hobbies. I always have to be the one to tell these lieutenants to stop going on their powertrips. LT complains whenever he has to go out into the field or the motorpool with the guys and makes up some dumb excuse to be in the office. When I go check up on him, he's talking it up with the other LT's and always hides behind the commander whenever I call him out on it. Something's gotta change because I've just had enough of these new LTs being so pretentious.

MSG Thomas Currie
It sounds to me like he reached that time quite a while ago.
From his entire rant I am not the least bit surprised that he is on his THIRD platoon leader who doesn't want to listen to his "mentoring"
