Sgt (Join to see) - You should have seen the Telemetry receivers in the late '60s. They were made by Defense Electronics, and were completely vacuum tube. They were not interested in learning to use Transistors so two Engineers and one salesman left to found Microdyne. The only tube they used was an odd, wide rectangular scope tube for a spectrum display. I worked for the from '97 to '01. By than, most products had embedded controllers to allow remote operation from control consoles.
