Unfortunately there are many who are just teacher for the paycheck and promise of a retirement after thirty years of sitting in the classroom. I think about retirement but then I think about what I'm doing and decide that I enjoy teaching too much to leave it. One day I will but that isn't today!

You And I Are 2 Fortunate People, We're Able To Be Paid For Doing Things Which Could Have Been Our Hobbies, But Someone Told Us "It's A Career" And Gave Us Money For Doing It.
As For Quality Teachers, We Had A LOT Of Them In The School Which I Was Employed; But What They DIDN'T Have Was A Good Curriculum To Pass On To Their Students.
~~This Is For Others Whom May Not Have A Clear Understand Of What "Curriculum" Actually Is:

And BTW, We LOST Many 1st Year Teachers Because They Didn't Feel "They Were Allowed To Actually Educate Their Students", And Used Their Degrees For Other Fields Of Employment... Is 30 Years What It Takes To Retire As A Teacher In TN? Out Here It's 20 Years And Attaining The Age Of Either 52 Or 56.~ Not Sure Which.... Plus Each Year Beyond 20, Adds Additional Income To Their Retirement Benefits....
I THINK I'd Mentioned THIS Previously, But I'll Add It Here:
I Was Offered A Teaching Position In One Of The Magnet Schools And Turned it Down "FLAT" Because It Paid LESS Than I Was Already Making & I'd Have To Put Up With The Administrations Bull Sh*t... And That's Exactly What I Told Them, "Bull Sh*t" And All. ~
Too Much Of It For The Money.~ I Could Not, Would Not, Want Your Job.. "NOR Will I Eat Those Green Eggs And Ham"....LOL... I Thank The Gods For Teachers Like You. ~ Ain't No Way In Hell, I'd Do What You Do For a Living.
