Climate change is coming like a freight train, or a rising tide. And our food, so dependent on rain and suitable temperatures, sits right in its path.
The plants that nourish us won't disappear entirely. But they may have to move to higher and cooler latitudes, or farther up a mountainside. Some places may find it harder to grow anything at all, because there's not enough water.

That's why we need seed banks and we have to be ready to modify crops. This knee jerk reaction to all genetic modification is foolish to say the least.

Here in South Dakota, the farmers in the middle of the state have been fighting draught for over 7 years now. A big impact on their wheat crop. Many have switched to other crops like soy. Now, that crop takes a hit because of tariffs against China.

Tell 'em I said hi up in pheasant country. My grandparents lived ~ 60 miles outside Sioux Falls. I miss the bird hunting this time of year.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - My son-in-law has a game lodge in the middle of the state. Looks like we may have a record year for birds.
