I haven't featured Neil Diamond on my Music Interludes in quite awhile, but someone mentioned Neil's name in a response to a post I made... A light bulb went off and I picked a great Neil Diamond song titled "America"... an awesome song about OUR COUNTRY, which recently has been unabashed by radicals around our country and around the world... Maybe this song will make up for some of that bashing... God Bless the United States of America and all that she stands for!!!! I'd like to dedicate this to my good friend MSG Felipe De Leon Brown for mentioning Neil Diamond's name and that He enjoys his music...
NOTE: This song was dedicated by Neil Diamond to his grandmother who made the journey from Kiev nearly 100 years ago, watch Neil perform "America" live at the Greek Theatre, part of the new Hot August Night III concert video and CD multi disc set...
LYRICS:
"America" by Neil Diamond
Far,
We've been traveling far
Without a home
But not without a star
Free,
Only want to be free
We huddle close
Hang on to a dream
On the boats and on the planes
They're coming to America
Never looking back again,
They're coming to America
Home
Don't it seem so far away
Oh, we're traveling light today
In the eye of the storm
In the eye of the storm
Home
To a new and a shiny place
Make our bed and we'll say our grace
Freedom's light burning warm
Freedom's light burning warm
Everywhere around the world
They're coming to America
Ev'ry time that flag's unfurled
They're coming to America
Got a dream to take them there
They're coming to America
Got a dream they've come to share
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
Today, Today,
Today, Today, Today
My country 'tis of thee (today)
Sweet land of liberty (today)
Of thee I sing (today)
Of thee I sing
Today, Today, Today
Today, today, today......
Writer(s): Neil Diamond
I hope you all enjoy it!!!

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - He has Parkinson's disease... Here is some info I found:
"More than two years after Parkinson’s disease forced Neil Diamond to retire from touring, the “Sweet Caroline” crooner returned to the stage Saturday night for a thrilling performance.
Diamond, 79, performed at the 24th annual Keep Memory Alive Power of Love gala at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, singing a seven-song set that included “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “Hello Again,” “Forever in Blue Jeans,” Love on the Rocks,” “I Am … I Said,” “September Morn” and, of course, “Sweet Caroline,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
The “Cherry, Cherry” singer announced his diagnosis in January 2018. Though he said he would give up the road, he wouldn’t let the degenerative disease stop him from performing.
“Well, I’m doing pretty well. I’m active. I take my meds. I do my workouts. I’m in pretty good shape. I’m feeling good. I want to stay productive. I still have my voice. I just can’t do the traveling that I once did, but I have my wife there supporting me (and) friends,” he said in an August 2018 interview.
“It does have its challenges, but I’m feeling good and I feel very positive about. I’m feeling better every day,” he added. “Just dealing with it as best I can, and just keep the music coming.”
