Greetings to all that read this.
I have spoken about my situation in another thread but, to make a long story short, I have an uncharacterized discharge and joint pain on my neck, back and shoulders (chronic muscle spasm and cervical kyphosis). As of now (thanks to all the helping and supporting men and women here in rallypoint) I am receiving the proper help for my claim do to my diagnosis with all the medical evidence but in all honesty, and this might sound strange to some but, can get a USID Card instead of a ratting from the VA? or do have to get a specific ratting from the VA to obtain one?

You are not eligible for a USID card. Why do you want one?

I beleive I anwsered your other post about being wrongly diagnosed in the Army and then you found out you had cervical kyphosis also known as "military neck" because your neck is straight like at "attention" when it should have a curve in it.

As to your question about a Common Acsess Card why would you need it? It's for acsessing the military computer system among other things? And how could you get an uncharaterized discharge if youe an E-4? I thought that discharge was for those who discharged before 180 days....I could be wrong about all of this because I've been out of the Army since 1981. But I wish you the best of luck in your quest SPC (Join to see)

Thank you for the good wishes SPC Richard Zacke. As for my rank, I entered the army with a BA in Psychology. And I think it was a mistake from my part saying USID. What I meant to say the blue ID card but, I was told that the VHIC can be also used for post privileges If I enroll in the VA health care and get service connected disability. So I’m content with the news and if I win the claim.

You can get a brown military id card if you are 100% disable; not a CAC Card. Otherwise the VA will issue you an ID Card to enter the VA hospital or VA clinic. The 100% ID card looks like a dependent ID Card which allows you PX Commissary and MWO; Nothing else. The VA will pay you compensation once you have been rated. Make a claim to the VA for a evaluation and a rating. A rating has to be service connected which you may have to provide a record of your injury while on active duty.
