The federal judge overseeing the case involving former President Donald Trump's handling of sensitive government records declined for now to postpone his trial until after the November 2024 presidential election, but said she would revisit the issue in several months.
The 9-page decision by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon maintains the May 2024 trial date she scheduled over the summer. But she said she will consider the matter again at a conference set to take place on March 1 after proceedings to determine how classified information will be used in the case.
If the original trial date stands, it would take place weeks before Republicans formally select their nominee for the presidential election.
Last month, Trump's lawyers asked Cannon to delay the trial until after the Nov. 5 election, citing in part ongoing proceedings in a separate case against Trump brought by special counsel Jack Smith in Washington, D.C. The documents case is being handled in federal court in South Florida.
In the D.C. case, prosecutors charged Trump with four counts related to alleged efforts to prevent the transfer of presidential power after the 2020 election. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges in both cases.
The trial in the election-related case is set to begin March 4, and Trump's lawyers had argued that those proceedings and the schedule set in the South Florida case required him and his defense team "to be in two places at once." The former president's legal team told Cannon in a filing that the deadlines set in July were "unworkable."

Trump's classic delay and divert legal strategy is running out of road | CNN Politics
A trio of new defeats extended former President Donald Trump’s legal losing streak as he seeks to delay or avoid scrutiny over his hoarding of classified documents and his 2020 election chicanery.

But nothing happens to president biden, even though he stole sensitive documents when he was a senator from the skif.... Notice that president trump had his stuff secured and secret service agents were around, while president biden had them and his garage next to us corvette unsecured. Why didn't also have it at a think tank in Pennsylvania And federal agents in the storm that location eater

LTC Kevin B. He cooperated but still he was breaking federal law. And they purposely wanted to make it look dramatic. As you know comma as a senator you do not have the option of declassifying information. President button stole it or someone stole it for him. Like I have pointed out many times on my post comma there are two sets of standards. The biden family is being given parole order not following the rules. Cooperation or not, it's been almost a year and nothing has happened to President Biden.. He probably has had somebody's files for as long as 1973 and maybe as recently as 2007 as a senator and his garage next to his Corvette. Or somewhere in his house or in a couple of his think thanks. I see it as a double standard.
They also try to make it look dramatic like president trump Put these top secret documents on the floor laying around the room when it was in the secured, classified information involved in his Residents. by the way, it's worth more than 18 million dollars. But it's attorney general of georgia? Thinks it's worth eighteen million.

Hillary Clinton should have gone to jail and many others in the Clinton. Administration should have gone to jail but nothing happens. But when president trump decides to run, everything comes down on him to try to kill his chances and its back firing royally.
