CPT (Join to see) - great movie based on true events but there were no Americans in the escape. not sure were the McQueen character came from but its a cool twist to put him in. maybe to appeal to US audience's

MSG Greg Kelly - Agreed and for sure Hilt’s “99% line” and some of the other aspects was pure Hollywood as opposed to actual fact. And —> the (low budget) sequel w/Christopher Reeve = less well known but interesting nevertheless.

MSG Greg Kelly - The sequel didn’t have the production values of the original and as is often the case the real/factual backstory was even more interesting.

UNTOLD STORY TOLD: `THE GREAT ESCAPE II'
There's a reason why older Americans feel nostalgia for World War II - all its movie battles were in Technicolor and all its villains and heroes were sharply black and white. The Great Escape II: The Untold Story (Sunday and Monday at 8 p.m., Ch. 2) takes its audience back to those good old days of yesteryear when you could tell the good guys from the bad without a scorecard.
