PO3 Phyllis Maynard, I have attempted to, and they are so ingrained in ignorance, they cannot it will not comprehend...they want everything NOW and for Free! They aren’t willing to ‘work’ for their rewards...very sad ‘state of affairs’PO3 Phyllis Maynard

PO3 Phyllis Maynard the difference is my generation started working delivering newspapers from house to house in 5th grade. We were raised by depression and WWII survivors. We raised our children the same way. Then that everyone wins a trophy philosophy came in. God forbid little Timmy leaves the baseball field crying.

I don't believe it is the entire millennial generation. Those of us who waited until we were around 30 raised our kids differently than younger parents and passed our values down. After witnessing most of my daughters friends parents I believe they just didn't want to be bothered. The everybody gets a trophy came about because parents didn't want to put in the effort to explain the idea that trophies come from hard work.

Gen X was raised by those who got trophies for nothing. It's going to keep getting worse with every generation.
