Maj Robert Thornton - Lemon-Monroe High School in SW Ohio. It along with most of the the school I attended are long gone. Parts of that school were built in the late 1800s. Two school districts had a joint high school, When they split, one built a new school, and changed the name. The old building was later torn down, along with may under utilized buildings. Ironically, one remaining building was opened in the early '60s, with a 20 year design life. It outlived other buildings that were designed for 50+ years use. The town was heavily involved in paper making. Most of those companies are gone, and the town has gone from a nice place, to a drug infested crap hole. It is considered one of the most dangerous places in Ohio.

SPC Michael Terrell I attended Huntington High School in Huntington, Long Island. I haven’t been back to Huntington since 1973. I have no clue what it is like now.
It was not unusual to hear an M80 or cherry bomb go off somewhere in the building.
We did have an incident where the M80 was late getting flushed and broke the toilet.
Normally to get in the boys bathroom, you needed a knife to cut the smoke, since smoking was not allowed on campus.

Maj Robert Thornton - Idiots would light up in first flor restrooms across the hall from the main offices. The ventilation system carried it into the offices, but the morons would demand to know, 'Who ratted me out?!"
I used Google maps to see empty land where the schools were once located.

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - If the EPA had existed at the time, I would have reported some families for the toxic dump they lived in.

Amazing How Some Individuals Can Live,
And Do It Willingly Too. When We Lived In Detroit, There Was A Family Whom Lived Across The Street, The "Sequins's", On Saturday Night They's Get All Cleaned Up & Dressed ~ THEN They'd Go To Bed ~ So They'd Be Ready For Church Sunday Morning.... Absolutely TRUE...And Probably Why I Remember Them After 70 Years!
