Do you think you would of visited other countries if you wouldn't of joined the military?

I know for me growing up I didn't think about going to other countries. I didn't think that I would learn to speak Germany or Spanish. Going to Germany was a great experience, I've met many great people and seen very nice countries.

I visited Greece during a live fire exercise that we had. It was three day of work but five days of fun in the sun and on the beaches.

Egypt was nice, as a kid I just thought it was a desert. I didn't know what the people were like until I got to meet a few very nice ones. It's a nice country to visit.

Turkey wasn't all that bad a place to visit either, the people were different then the ones I got to know in Germany.

Puerto Rico was a very nice country to visit I learned to speak Spanish quickly and learned the culture. It's dangerous there but beautiful.

My favorite place I was stationed and live for awhile over all was Alaska though hands down.

I don't think I would of ever traveled to any of the places if not for the Army and I'm very greatful for all the places I've been the people I've met and the different food I've learn to get accustomed to. Some of the food I would prefer over American food. No disrespect for our food here in the US.

What is everyone thoughts on this and places you've been?

Not at all. I have seen 30 different countries and with all that there are thousands of things to see right here in the USA. I'll probably never leave here again..........

Without a doubt, I miss the travel, but not the schedule. Thanks mostly to duty at Andrews, I have been fortunate to visit at least 128 different countries. Yes, I miss my government paid, mostly first class vacations.
