Lt Col Charlie Brown Tone also applies to the classroom! Test anxiety is in most every student to some extent, even the high achievers (with high achievers in many cases it's worse!). I tell the students all I can ask of them is to do their best. It's only part of their grade and there are always opportunities to do corrections and extra credit. If they can look themselves in the mirror and honestly say, "I did my best," what more can I ask of them. No test is the end of the world.

MAJ Byron Oyler - Kids today don't usually bother reading directions to the questions either which causes them to miss it. Often I embed something in the question just to see who read it. In the middle of the directions I put, "If you have read the directions to this question, on the bottom of page 3 write, "I want three extra points because I read the directions." You would be amazed how many DON'T write it!

MAJ Byron Oyler - Yes, some people do well on tests, some people don't. I found that I do especially well on tests that rely on the multiple choice format. If I have ever read something, I can almost always recognize it again even if I couldn't remember it from just the question. This helped me our greatly throughout my career, especially as institutions (including the army) moved to machine-graded multiple-choice tests and tended to make the test questions simply a verbatim quote from the textbook or lecture slides because those questions were easier to defend which was the "best answer" when the developer had done a poor job with the other choices offered.

LMBO I Just Thought Of This:
Can You Imaging What Patton Would Have To Say About The B.S. Going On Today?
He'd Probably Work Up An Army Of His Own & Lead The Charge Down Pennsylvania Avenue, Screaming "GERANAMO" !!-- "I HAVE Returned"

I Spotted That Phony, Blowhard, Self Serving, Egomaniac When He Was Campaigning The 1st Time, And Did Almost Immediately After I Began Listening To His 1st Speech. I have 'Spinal Tap tone'. I'm always on eleven and since I'm a small business owner, I hate my boss's tone.

I Was Rather Fortunate -- In My Entire Career, Military And Civilian, Excluding The Self-Employment Years, I Don't Recall Ever Having A Supervisor I Disliked. Even The CO's Were Good To Me, Exceptionally Actually, One Even Arranged To Reassign Me To A Non-Existent Position And Supplied Me With A Desk & Room To Work On My Studies Instead Of My Previously Assigned Job. I'd Almost Forgot About That. -- Thanks Major - Who's Name I'm Embarrassed To Admit I Forgot. -- CO Of The 825th Civil Engineering Squadron, Little Rock AFB - Jacksonville, Arkansas --

No Idea How That Got Posed In Here, It's Not Even On The Same Subject.
And I Can't Remove It As The "Edit" Option's Missing-- OOPS, Now I Have To Go On A Search To Find Out Where It Goes & What Happened.
