Simply ludacris...no other words. In the time it was written it was in the context. You can't apply modern day literature and Social acceptances to history. As I have said before, when Raffiki the monkey in The Lion King hit Simba upside the head and Simba asked what was that for, Raffiki says it does not matter it is inthe past. We need to keep history alive good and bad. If we erase it then we WILL repeat it. This is beyond crazy.

Yes this was overreach by an organization that is misrepresenting the true issue of what, who, and how do we recognize controversial individuals in history. Wilder used her writing to illustrate a time and culture that was real. Yeah this was a bad, misinformed decision by the ALSC.

Suppression of speech, violence at protests, banning certain books , rewriting history. So tell me how conservatives are like Nazis again. Loony left SMH

I was going to say the same thing. All one has to do is read a history book (before they are rewritten) to determine which side is more "Nazi" like. I hate how the term is thrown around because it diminshes the true atrocities committed by that group. The group that uses the term the most seems to use their tactics the most.

It’s a crime against literature at the very least, SCPO (Join to see) This continued political correctness overkill could ultimately be part of our country’s undoing.
