I've provided links to others who have cited statistical evidence that murder rates do not correlate to gun ownership and that gun control laws do not prevent crime. In fact, it appears that the crime is lowest where gun ownership is highest and crime is highest where gun controls are most restrictive. Dr. Sowell goes on in this article to expose the fallacy of direct correlations between crime statistics in different countries. Using statistics to advance an argument is both art and science that most people simply have not mastered. Dr. Sowell has.

For the record....I am a proud California Refugee. I am one of the tens of thousands that have left that state since 2000. Snap....I got an idea. To replace all of us who have left, maybe Obama should sent the Syrian Refugees there. Then CA would not only be the state of fruits and nuts but of fanatics as well.

The 2nd Amendment is a check and balance mechanism for the government and those that govern. As long as We the People are armed, comparable to our military, then those that govern are imbued with fear, that should ensure they don't take actions that are against the Will of the People! 2nd in importance only to our freedom of religion, which is guaranteed! Protected from government influence, see the liberals have spun it around on us. They want the "We the People" to think the government has to be protected; but the great deceiver is at work and wants to marginalized our FREEDOMS!

IMHO it's not that gun violence is on the rise, but everyone from the 4 yo up, has a phone with a camera and is recording anything and everything to get there one minute of fame on the internet! Back in the 50's through the 80's all we had was the tv stations with cameras reporting the news. now everyone is recording the Jackass that can't drive, the cop that is trying to do there job and the prick is fighting him while his buddy tapes it instead of helping the police officer! We have gotten away from our core beliefs. I know there are people out there that will disagree and that is there right, but we have gotten away from GOD and it will continue to get worse!
