Portland PD riot control squad votes to resign after cop charged

Doesn't surprise me. Being on a specialty squad such as a riot squad means you are more likely to encounter violent people who act stupid.
You are taught certain techniques and skills with the goal to protect yourself, your team mates, the public, and reduce property crime.
Even if you do your best, there will always be someone who says you used too much force.
The first time an officer is charged for what appears to be doing their job in a chaotic situation, despite their best efforts, is the time for every other officer to step back for fear of being the next one to be charged.

Good for them. Let Portland reap the benefits of voting in incompetent morons to run their city. Maybe a couple will learn the error of their ways and that voting/not voting has consequences.
