A biracial high school senior is being threatened with not being able to graduate for failing a Critical Race Theory class at his school because he refused to confess to his "white dominance" as part of the course requirement, the boy's mother claims.
What are the details?
Gabrielle Clark says that her son, William, was forced to take a mandatory "Sociology of Change" course at his school, Democracy Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A crowdfunded profile of the situation posted by the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism explains: "In the class, William, along with all the students, was asked to publicly reveal his race, gender, religious, and sexual identities, and then attach derogatory labels to those identities.
"William was understandably reluctant to label himself as 'privileged' or an 'oppressor,'" the profile goes on to say, adding that "while William is the only student in the class who appears to be white — he has light skin and green eyes — he is, in fact, mixed race."
William was given a failing grade in the course, and his mother filed a lawsuit against the school in December to protest the curriculum of the Critical Race Theory class and to seek damages after the school allegedly threatened to not allow William to graduate.
The lawsuit states that the Clarks are seeking "monetary damages, including compensatory and punitive damages, for the damage done to William Clark's future academic and professional prospects, and for the Defendants' deliberate and protracted harassment, emotional abuse, and violation of Plaintiffs' Constitutional Rights."

According to The Daily Mail, "They also want the court to prevent the school from denying William a high school diploma and accommodate him with 'an alternative non-discriminatory, non-confessional class'."
Democracy Prep told the outlet that it could not comment on pending lawsuits, but issued a statement saying:
"Our curriculum teaches students about American democracy and movements for social change throughout our history. We strongly disagree with how the curriculum has been characterized in this filing."
What else?

The case has generated buzz over the already-controversial teaching of Critical Race Theory, and columnist Bari Weiss made a plug calling for support for the Clarks on Thursday.

What in H3!! has happened to our Public High School Curriculum, of Math, Science, History, Civics, Accounting, etc.!!! I would sue the school as well... That said, I don't think parents of today participate (enough) in what is going on in their children's schools and what they are being taught... Forcing a child/student to publicly reveal his race, gender, religious, and sexual identities, and then attach derogatory labels to those identities is an infringement on his privacy and freedom!!! No one, not even the Government can force you to do this IMHO! Boy does this Tick me off!!!

Sounds more like a charter school than a normal public school. Tick me off doesn't give it justice in my case!

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Yes, you are right, but this S*** has got to stop! I was so PO'd I assumed it was a public school, so shame on me... but it is just the idea of it and it is spreading like wildfire! I agree with you about "Tick me off", I was trying to hold what I really wanted to say... LOL!

Charter Schools Are Not Public Schools
Technically, any charter school can call itself a public school. Heck, any private or parochial school can call itself a public school if it's so inclined. But while modern charter schools are financed by public tax dollars, they are not truly public schools.

This is the cuddling that has now become mandatory in our liberal world. We live in fear of not wanting to offend anyone. You have the right to whine and be wimpy, you poor human. Does the poor baby want his blanket, should we take the chill out of your milk.

A human would learn more and have discipline if they attended puppy obedience school. It worked for me.

This academy sounds like a place that I personally wouldn't send any child to, they sound like they're trying to indoctrinate false values into the students, and fail them if they don't want to bow down to their whims Lt Col Charlie Brown
