I live in Franklin, TN, LTC Eric Udouj. Hood's senseless decision making (or lack thereof) is reiterated daily in the various tours that are available in the area. The Carter House tour is well known as the curator does many of the presentations, and he's most knowledgeable.
CPT Tod Carter, the son of the owner of Carter House, fought the entire Civil War only to be mortally wounded and die during the Battle of Franklin. He died in the bed he slept in as a boy. We've toured the Carter House a number of times as it’s less than seven miles from my home.

LTC Eric Udouj I visit Franklin often and I enjoy visiting the historic sights in and around the town. Thank you for the interesting share. BTW: There is a great little shop in Old Town Franklin that sells maps and paintings of the area and its history. If you ever get to visit Franklin, I highly encourage you to check it out.

At that time a divoision Comader did not have to consider staragey and tactics.. that was left to the Corps Commander and higher normally. After he was promoted Hood became one of US armies prime assets. Destroying an enemy Army should have gotten him decorated by the United States

GySgt John Olson He destroyed a Confederate Army out of either a.combination of spite and hubris or he was.mentaly ill. Few Generals have during the Civil war handed the US Army victories as those at Franklin and Nashville.
