I have not read the article cause because the WaPo won't let me unless I subscribe (like tha's gonna happen), so my comments may be off base.
What piece of legislation did the Democrats put into place when they controlled both houses and the White House that does "address" the "real problem?"
What proposals are coming from the DNC now that address the real problem? If your answer is higher taxes on the wealthy I raise the BS flag. The ONLY thing that will bring about an increase in wages and salaries is an increase in the demand for labor. I'd love to hear the argument that increasing taxes increases the demand for labor.

the amount tax cuts will affect you depends on your income. What would you consider wealthy? Are people making over $100k /yr wealthy to you? The main thing about upper middle class is the price of admission depends only on income and you can get there in usually one of 2 ways. Education in a field that isually guarantees a good income like doctor, lawyer, engineer or other similar field. The other is starting and running a small business. My husband and I are upper middle class. All of our friends are too. We select friends based on mutual interests usually relating to occupation and NOT race or religion.
I heard a quote before that socialist don’t really like the poor they just hate the rich. How miserable it must be going through life resenting everyone with more than you and believing that the world is out to get you. I don’t resebt the rich. Would I like to have the money the CEO of my civilian employer makes? Hell yes who wouldn’t but, I understand that he makes more based on responsibility level and skill set. So the guy makes 10x what I make. More power to him. I wouldn’t want his job.

The problem with the article or for that matter the reporter is they viewed the Corporate Tax cut with tunnel vision. If a Corporate Tax cut was the only item passed the author might be correct. However it is part of a larger package of renogotation of trade agreements, changing our immigration laws, deregulation, etc. If the entire package goes through, the reporter will of course be wrong.
