Lt Col Charlie Brown This would be a great history lesson if I were a history teacher instead of mathematics.

How in the world did he come back from that horror? All of you who served in Combat Zones...let alone getting captured when you have nothing to fight back with...I hope he found some peace when he came back. I wish war would end. Forever.

Cpl Vic Burk Yep, he told me what it was like. He also had an old Mopar with a hemi in it rotting on his property.

SPC Joseph Kopac - I think that is a natural human reaction....it is not a healthy state of mind, but it is the correct one for what he went through.

I own the sidearm of a lieutenant in one of the three-digit infantry divisions chewed up by operation Wacht am Rhein. And I have his "I love me book" to prove provenance. A now-retired LEO did the right thing instead of allowing it to be destroyed when it was discovered in the lieutenant's closet after his death, where it had been sitting for half a century, retroactively illegal in a blue state. The front sight post is a little chewed up, but it functions fine. I'll donate it and the book to a museum at some point. I didn't pay for it, I shouldn't profit off of letting it go.

GOOD ON YA. Doesn't It Make You Feel Good When You Do Something For Someone Or An Organization And Expect Zero Back In Return? It Does Our Souls & Hearts Good And It's A Perfect Way To Start A Fresh Day -- And Every Day Thereafter-- Our Eldest Of Brothers Gave Me These Instructions To Live By, And I'd Like To Share Them With All Of You.

Yas AIN'T Going To Believe This, And Had I Not Known The Man Myself, I Doubt I Would Either, But Here's The Story: Our 1st Shirt In South Korea Stated He Was In Combat In The Battle Of The Bulge As Well As A Survivor Of The Batton Death March - Both Of Which Were Hell - .
The Subject Came Up Because He Was Doing So Many Things For Us In His Squadron, Many Of Which Were Questionable At Best. We'd Asked Him "Sarge (A Respectful Term In Those Days) Aren't You Afraid Of Getting Caught Doing Some Of These Things For Us And Getting Busted"? -- He Was An E-8-- And He Replied With The Info I Just Posted - THEN Added "Not At All. With My Military Record It Would Literally Take An Act Of Congress For Trying To Take My Stripes. Basically I'm Immune To Minor Offences & Charges, I Can't Be Prosecuted Without Congressional Approval" ( Paraphrased Of Course),
- NOW I Can't Say "It's 100% The Truth", But I've Never At Any Point Had Reason To Doubt His Word -
