I never saw the Movie that is pictured in the Post. But I did wonder what it would be like to Interview God. If this post is offensive to folks, that was a never my intent, and just have the Moderators remove it. I wrote it hoping it would get a smile out of people, and maybe some thoughts. So here it is:
"Well, God, first I would like to thank you for your time."
God laughs.
"You are off to a good start. For time is one of the finer things I ever
invented. In your Universe it has two futures, but only one past."
"What?"
"Never mind, what is your first question?"
"You don't know?"
"No. Actually, I don't. I could guess and be reasonably sure I was right, but,
you might use your free will in a way I didn't expect. That is always a
surprise, and welcome."
"You like surprises?"
"Oh, very much. Well, the good surprises anyway."
"Are there bad surprises?"
"Oh. Yes. Definitely."
"Can you give me one?"
"Sure, Religion."
"What?"
"Don't you know any other interrogative pronouns?"
"What?"
"Never mind."
"Well, why did Religion surprise you?"
"Because I never wanted one. Let alone, thousands. In fact, I distinctly told
people not to build churches. I told them to follow their heart, and not
leaders. To become Kings in their own life choices. To learn to love, to
forgive, to forego violence, to seek peace, and love."
"Well, you know how people are."
"No. Actually, I don't. They are evolving...just like you. And me."
"What?"
"Okay, maybe you aren't evolving. Is this your first interview?"
"What?"
"Oh, never mind. When I first made humans, I made several kinds. Your
scientists have discovered a few of them, they missed a few too. But, they
are starting to figure out that choices matter. Some paths of behavior lead to
dead ends. Some social habits lead to dead ends. Sometimes, natural
climate changes, or disasters, change the course of things.
By the way, it has always kind of chafed me, that disasters are called: "Acts
of God." But forgiving, loving, beautiful things, are not. Few people look at a
hug for example, as an Act of God. Or of feeding your children, as an Act of
God, or laughing, as an Act of God. Yet, all of those ARE acts of God, as are
all signs of kindness, forgiveness, loving, or caring. That is the part of me,
that is in all of you, if you choose."
"Wow."
"Well, at least you didn't say: "What?"
"Why?"
"He's on third."
"What?"
"Never mind."
End of the first interview.

I suspect he might say: How did you look after your brothers and sisters?
