Now if they really wanted to scare the sailors they would have opened the bomb bay doors, poped up, and made a slight turn to the right.

If the pilot's good, see, I mean if he's reeeally sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low... oh you oughta see it sometime. It's a sight. A big plane like a '52... varrrooom! Its jet exhaust... frying chickens in the barnyard!

Nope, but would have loved to be. I have been that low over the ocean in a B-52 though. Our wing had a sea mining tasking and that's about the altitude we trained at. Now, in the FB-111 we were there all the time but the size difference makes it much ess impressive.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - My Father was with SAC before he retired, Crew Chief. I was young when he retired, but one of the things I remember was that he would park at the end of the Runway and let me watch that beast takeoff. I still remember it.

At least you had a similar experience but you had a daily Intel dump fleetwide/worldwide so you would have heard about it if it was published internally.
