in the British army they have "bat men" to handle such menial chores. usually a lower ranked enlisted man.

in the US military we have evolved beyond that.

we use Majors (what else are they good for?)

Most BGs are fairly humble in dealings. Two were not while I was in and it ended their careers. Personal servitude by enlisted, after hours, for parties and menial work in their Quarters is a no-no. Aides can be expected to serve in many ways, but with limits.

CWO3 (Join to see) When You make Flag Officer (Admiral) in the Navy You are entitled to a Cook, To Help with Formal Receptions and Parties and a Master at Arms to assist with Formal Ceremonies, The Cook is Always a Cook but in My Time a Master at Arms could be any Somewhat Senior PO. How do I Know? I was Master at Arms to Chief of Staff Commander Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command. Chief Note taker for Inspections and Court Bailiff for Admirals Masts (Article 15's)
