...A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 AM CDT FOR LINCOLN...
ELLSWORTH...RUSSELL AND BARTON COUNTIES...

At 326 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated widespread moderate to heavy
rain across central and north-central Kansas. This is on top of very
heavy rainfall that occurred since Saturday evening, with radar
estimates topping 3 to 5 inches. Rain and thunderstorms are expected
to continue past daybreak this morning. This will likely cause
localized flooding of small creeks and streams, city streets,
country roads, farmland, poor drainage areas and other low lying
spots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Strong to severe storms with torrential rain will gradually end
from west to east during the day. Areal flooding from the heavy
rain will likely continue for some areas of central and south
central Kansas into at least the afternoon as water gradually
subsides.

Some rivers in central Kansas are, or will be going into flood.
Check the latest river flood warnings and statements for more
details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

River flooding in central Kansas will likely linger into mid week.

Severe storms are expected late Monday afternoon and evening as a
cold front moves across the area. The greatest threat will be east
of a line from Eureka to Sedan. Very large hail and damaging winds
are the greatest threats. A tornado or two are also possible.

Heat indices of 100 to 105 are forecast Monday afternoon roughly
south of a line from Harper to Winfield to Howard to Parsons.

The next round of storms are forecast on Friday and Saturday. Check
later outlooks for updated information.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated today or tonight, but may be
needed late Monday afternoon and evening in southeast Kansas.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 AM CDT FOR
BARTON COUNTY...

At 322 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated slow-moving thunderstorms
producing very heavy rain across mainly southern Barton county.
Radar estimates of three to five inches have occurred since late
Saturday evening across northern portions of the county, and also
across western and southern portions of the county. Additional
thunderstorms with heavy rain are possible into early Sunday
morning. This will likely cause localized flash flooding of small
creeks and streams, city streets, country roads, farmland, poor
drainage areas and other low lying spots.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Great Bend, Hoisington, Ellinwood, Claflin, Pawnee Rock, Albert,
Olmitz, Galatia, Susank, Great Bend Airport, Cheyenne Bottoms and
Odin.
