I grew up with standard units and still have to translate metric to standard to estimate accurately.

I remember watching my Dad as a construction guy lament over having to buy (own) carry and use metric and standard tools. :-(

The problem is people confuse the question. There are two different questions. As a system is metric or standard easier to use? Metric. Using in todays environment that is already based on standard in the US is it easier to use standard or metric? Standard.

Depends:
If Cooking = Standard
If Shooting = Metric
But, I work in construction. So, my daily grind is standard.

Capt Mark Strobl interesting! I am surprised you use metric for shooting, everything else in standard. Thanks.

MAJ (Join to see) - It's my natural pace: 1 step = 1 m. However, it screws up my golf game: Constantly dropping in about 20 yds from the pin. If they only made 1:50,000 topo-maps of the courses I play!

Capt Mark Strobl google maps? I think there are distance measuring apps you can use for that. Hmmm, that's a good idea - I should get one.

Being raised with it I prefer Standard but having served overseas I can do some rough approximations with Metric.
