Photos welcome. Here's mine! Yes, it is lit at night so it flies 24/7!

I fly it everyday. I installed a solar powered light so that I always have light on my flag.

MSgt Donald G. yes I agree with you there. I lived for sixteen years with an overbearing homeowners association. When I moved 10 years ago I never looked back! Never again! The flag pole above was a birthday gift from my wife and boys a few years back...best gift I ever got!

Good for you. Luckily, I haven't experienced issues but it seems almost monthly there's a Veteran somewhere fighting his HOA. Frankly, if anyone desires to fly the American flag they should be able to do so regardless of what a bunch of "Uptight Young/Old Farts" think. This is America and in my opinion it falls under our first amendment right to free speech, so fly it high.

You should take a walk with me.....sometimes I think folks put up "Old Glory" just to see me render honors....... I'm not complaining, mind you.

I walk 3-6 miles a day...so I would love that! lol Don't walk in my uniform, as I have been out of the service for more than 25 years, but rendering honors to the flag never bothered me either. Plus we didn't get a photo of your flag?

I fly Old Glory EVERYDAY, PO2 Jonathan Scharff. Although my porch is lighted, there’s no direct light on the flag, so naturally, I retire it in the evening.

I don't see as many people flying the flag as I once did. "Back in the day" most houses had a service member or veteran in them. Today, very few do, and I think that has a lot to do with why I see fewer flags. Our next door neighbor never served and he couldn't care less about flying a flag.

LTC Brett Weeks that has been my experience also. I hope that we could get another leader in the next election like President Regan that could inspire this country to believe in itself once again. Sadly, that might be easier said than done.

If you fly the flag, give us a photo! Thanks for your response.

I have a similar (but lame excuse) as posted by someone else here...

I once owned a good quality "Old Glory" too and when we moved from our last home...I forgot to take her down! I haven't seen one like it since in local stores, but I haven't really looked either (maybe I will do some online shopping this holiday)...So, I didn't have the heart to ask for it back as the new homeowner proudly kept her flying...so I decided it was a house-warming gift now. However, while we are on the subject...I have a couple of pet-peeves about those that hang the flag improperly or inappropriately...like a homeowner that hangs it 5' feet off the ground where anyone can touch or run into it...or a wealthy, deep-pocketed business owner that hangs a tiny 4x3 sized cheap flag on a 100 foot mast! Thanks...but make more of an effort please!
