Some military movies got overlooked in the recognition department. I liked "The Siege of Firebase Gloria"-just because R. Lee Ermey rocked it with his one-liners! What other less-known tasty military nuggets are out there, possibly undiscovered?

Dwight Yokham as the villainous battalion commander. Ron Eldard did a good job with that role. Had forgotten about that one.

Go Tell the Spartans and the Odd Angry Shot pretty much end the discussion when it comes to underrated. Brilliant. BOTH would be on my list too. The Siege at Jadotville is pretty good. Dark Blue World and Lebanon are both tremendous

Arnold Roth: Following up 8 years later, it's been a few years since the last time I watched Siege at Jadotville, but I still haven't gotten round to my first times with Lebanon or Dark Blue World.
Some days I wish I could order round tuits off Amazon....

It is a classic film. For those younger folks out there who have never saw it, I recommend it.

In the "What, were they thinking?" department, two films that made the rounds of outdoor theatres everywhere in RVN were "Khartoum" and "Charge Of The Light Brigade", both of which are sorta topical nowadays.

We also got "M*A*S*H" and "The Green Berets", both of which were regarded as serious comedy hits by those of us sitting on ammo cans and swatting mosquitoes back in the day. The beach scene with the Sun setting in the East in the latter film actually got some cheers on one occasion.

MAJ Ronnie Reams, I remember seeing that. What I recall the most from that movie was a young Bob Newhart doing his famous Phone Call skit.

I loved it too CPT Karen Nichols McAbee ls MCAbee. Camaraderie doesn't sell. You are absolutely right. If Little Tom Cruise was in it I believe it would still be in theatres. He's a SEAL in his own mind.
