Can the name tape in the Operation Enduring Freedom camouflage pattern be worn on the OCP?

So I know you can mix and match until the wear out date, however I own alot of nametapes from OEF and was wanting to know if I could utilize them on the new pattern or if I would have to buy new nametapes. I've been researching the ALARACTS but I cannot find a definitive answer. Any help is appreciated

Honestly there wouldn't be any way to tell on a name tape. The only difference between OCP and Multicam is the pattern itself, which would only be apparent on a larger piece of cloth. They have the same color palette. However with Multicam, there is a distinct vertical pattern that does not show up in OCP. Like I said though, this is only apparent is you look at a much larger section of material.

There is such a minute difference in the two pasterns, IMO no one will notice or care.

I also agree SGM Steve Wettstein but... there is always that one person who will care

Pretty sure you can, same as patches. Just don't use ACU name-tapes on the OCP (:
That being said, as a joke, sending a new private for the OCP pattern unit patches would be almost as good as searching for a PRCE-7 radio, or a box of Grid Squares, or the HMMVW keys, or the 50 yards of Flight-Line!

How dare you all forget ba-1100n series and ensuring your track vehicles are free from soft spots and also the shocks are in good working order

I just got overseas for a TDY and realized in my haste to find/pack a reflective belt I forgot my cover. I had to go to a "tactical Timmy" store here, buy a MultiCam cover, use the small Navy Rank insignia and have an Air Force name tape velcroed to the back of it.

Wow Sir! I laughed at your story but it's good to see you kept your cool and turned your plight into a tri-service collaboration.

Sarge, I too had a bunch of name tapes and rank from OIF Multi-cam. I removed all the velcro, and had them all sowed on my OCP's, I also did not buy any OCP patrol caps either, I'm using my OIF Multi-cam covers and not one person has noticed the difference. I can't even tell a difference.

I have been wearing OEF name tapes and patches on my OCP since i got them. I have never seen anything alarac or otherwise that says you cant. The patterns match. And since i dont work for a name tape manufacturer, i cant guarantee this, but i bet they are using the same material they did for the OEF patches. Also, and i hate to admit this, but if you cant find your patch in ocp...a yellow hilighter will make an acu patch as green as the OCP.

SFC (Join to see) Of Course you got to buy new name tapes! How dare you think you can get away with using something over, being efficient or practical! I highly advice you fork out the bucks and play with others in the fashion desired.
I couldn't resist the post! OH GOD how glad I am I'm retired and don't have to goat screw around with this no more. GOOD luck SFC Hobbs, I REALLY hope you can use them over. (I had a long day, hope you enjoy)

I did enjoy the sarcasm if your post SGM Mikel Dawson. Seems you retired before the uniform go round took place. I think we will eventually work our way back to Woodland camo and laugh at ourselves.

Good afternoon SFC, to precisely answer your question, yes. Have both uniforms and as far as the nametapes go they are the same. HOWEVER, everyone here knows how much our multicams fade from deployment and OCP does not, so, IF you're going to do that, I would just make sure they match. As far as fading goes
