This happened a couple of weeks ago, and I hadn't even heard about it until I came across this article. So where is all the outrage, from people of any color, at something that was just as egregious as any of the more well-known incidents?

The outrage over this type of incident is ginned up by race-baiters to further their own agendas, and is unrelated to the facts of the incident. This is obvious by the lack of reaction to incidents like this one that don't fit the racial profile the race-baiters are looking for - black perp shot by white cop.

I could't have said it better myself. I believe the race-baiters your referring to can also be identified as the U.S. media. Looking over the statistics for the last 15 years it doesn't seem to show much change in shootings or arrests of white or black individuals but all of this sudden... IT'S A HUGE DEAL. I'm not taking anything away from the shooting of innocent men. I'm just asking the question.... "Why now?"

CW2 (Join to see), of course the race-baiters include the media - they are perhaps the worst offenders. Recall the doctored 911 tapes and police pictures that were altered to make Zimmerman appear to have racist motives and no injuries from getting his head bashed on the concrete sidewalk. Also the pictures of Martin as an innocent 9 year-old instead of the teenage street thug that he was, and the description of Zimmerman as a "white Hispanic" to work the "white kills innocent black young boy" profile they were using to try to stir up riots.

They did the same thing in Ferguson, Staten Island and Baltimore.

Their motives are to sow racial divide IMHO; the left uses this racial resentment to turn out the vote for the Dems. It is a tactic that they have been using very successfully for many decades, resulting in a reliable 90% black vote percentage.

The left does the same thing with their other interest group constituencies as well; divide and conquer.

And the media today is largely a creature of the left.

CW2 (Join to see) - And here's your answer: An election is coming. You will also note that for the last several years, your winter human interest stories on the news have been focused on things other than the homeless sleeping on grates. I can predict with 100% accuracy on NOV 6, 2016, whether those stories will return for the next 4 years.

SN Greg Wright, Well, I'm sorry the kid was shot and killed, but it does show the cops aren't racially divided. They'll kill anyone if they fear their life is in danger.

SGT (Join to see) - I think you're onto something there, Sarge. That poses an interesting question, though: I wonder what the reaction would have been if the cop had been black?

SN Greg Wright, I don't think there would have been a reaction. It would just be another dead white guy attempting to assault a police officer.

SGT (Join to see) - As LTC John Shaw says above, there is dispute between the police statement and the physical evidence, so I think that definitely needs to be examined.

White on black, white on white, black on white or black on black it's ALL newsworthy. However, it's only depends on the media as to which is MORE newsworthy.

CPT (Join to see) I completely agree, Captain. The media exacerbates this shit until we grow weary of it, which causes ambivalence. Which isn't good.

No... white folks killed by cops, are not news worthy. Nor, are black folks killed by black cops. This cop issue is a fabricated political issue.

We seriously need to consider psychological reviews of all police officers. Yes it costs money, but something isn't right in our country. Maybe they're over worked and over stressed, but that doesn't give them a reason to shoot anyone just because. They need to go through training so they can defuse situations at the lowest level. They need counseling. Our country's police force as a whole needs revamping and improvement. Not every crime deserves the death penalty.

PVT Robert Gresham - I didn't say it totally exonerated him. I merely quoted the article and pointed out that a vehicle is a lethal weapon. I will also not assume that an attorney connected to the case is being completely honest. Nor will I prejudge a Police officer.

SrA Daniel Hunter - Not trying to start an argument here, but your exact words were, "lethal force was appropriate." That certainly sounds to me that you have the case solved and tied up with a nice neat bow. Another officer lately tried to pull out the self-defense shooting card under suspicious circumstances, only to later be "hanged" by evidence, body cam, and dash cam footage.

I only want to say that before we jump to any conclusions, one way, or the other, we (all) should wait for the entire story, the entire picture to unfold, before giving anyone one the credit, or the blame.

PVT Robert Gresham - In the event the vehicle was used in a threatening manner lethal force is appropriate. The legal standard established by the Supreme Court is viewed by a reasonable officer on the scene. Not the general public with the benefit of hind sight.

Not jumping to conclusions would also include the possibility that the shots were fired after the vehicle was used in a threatening manner. They also include the possibility that an "independent" autopsy paid for by the family is not unbiased and does not include all of the forensic evidence. A legitimate autopsy based on partial evidence should read "inconclusive" because not all of the evidence is released by a Coroner during an on going investigation.

SrA Daniel Hunter - I guess we both need to just wait until the facts are in before we make statement like, "lethal force was appropriate" or, "the vehicle was not moving".

To do so invites speculation into things that just have not been, and at this time, cannot be, proven. It makes it look like a person may be guilty......no investigation, no trial. Just Guilty.

Based on what you posted SN Greg Wright and the responses "the jury" is still out on this case. I prefer to let the evidence be examined and let cool heads determine how to proceed.
There is way too much race-baiting in "the news" and editorials.
Every day scores if not hundreds of policemen and women, citizens and illegal aliens are killed and injured in this nation. Many are injured on purpose and some are injured accidentally.
It is interesting to me to watch particularly racially charged and more recently "homophobic" attacks on homosexuals of both genders [yes there are only 2 :-)] get elevated in the news cycles and see which ones make national news while many others equally tragic are ignored.

"Outrage" is media controlled and will only be portrayed to get a rise out of the population.

Exactly! RIGHT?!?!?! Unless it's a black person, there is NEVER any outrage over a copy killing someone.....Why?? because they are race baiters...They are those people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and the rest of them who want to stir things up...stir up the pot and get people racially motivated...and obarfma is right there with them...especially michelle.
