I saw this today. This is another case of a gross violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and carried out by some officistic bus driver who thinks he knows better.
When will this country get its collective head out from where the sun doesn't shine, and stop abusing disabled people of all flavors, not just disabled vets. I of course know that we are about Veterans' issues here but the problem is more wide spread...

The driver only response was to determine if the animal is a service animal. At no time is the driver to charge or question the reason for the need of the dog. Any resistance from the driver can result in the disabled person suing per ADA and they will lose every time.
I am sure that this problem will be resolved and driver will receive some corrective action. I don't believe that they can even ask for documentation. Hopefully a lesson is learned here!

There is NO STANDARD for what a "service animal" is and no way for anyone to determine if any person has a disability or if any pet they want to bring with them is a "service animal"
You can ask "Is that a service animal" but you cannot ask what it does and you cannot ask if the person has a disability.
Bottom line: no matter how ridiculous the claim, anyone can bring any animal anywhere just by claiming it is a "service animal"
