ALL New Connections - Back by Popular Demand! I'm still receiving some great photos from all you RP Members. THANKS!
Keep them coming!
All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

SPC Margaret Higgins,
Great Shirt! Good smile too. I served with only a few Women Soldiers (we called them WAC"s) but most worked at Headquarters or for the Staff Officers. Anyone who thinks you have to be a man to be a soldier needs to go the way of the DoDo bird. Thanks for your service!

PO3 Jordan Davis,
I wonder if we shouldn't put up a series of Pictures of the: "Girls that were there at the beginning... ." I still have my old Fiance and I in a picture before I headed out to Germany. Luckily I met my wife several years later! But still those old connections were bittersweet. Thanks for your Service.

Great pic then, something to treasure. One of our great Generals Sgt Thomas. I think there was talk of making him and General Colin Powell five star generals. My former unit in NY was activated for the storm but I had moved to Rhode Island by that time. Would have loved to have done another war before I had retired. All the best.

I saw him daily. I was also once thrown out of an elevator by the Saudi guard that GEN Powell walked in. GEN Powell helped me back in my feet and and asked me my name and where I was from. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera for that. I also met LTG Yeosock from ARCENT and GEN Horner CENTAF

Besides some great looking pics, one common thread I notice here is that many service members went from enlisted to officer. It isn't just one or two, its quite a number. I find that interesting.

I've noticed that too. It says a lot about the leadership that has come up through the ranks. I believe having that enlisted service time is very important. Just my opinion!

Col B, I completely agree with you sir. Officers who were once enlisted soldiers or prior NCO's understand the Joe's better.

Looking sharp MSG Highberger. I liked the gold stripes too, wish they were still part of the current uniform.

MSG Kirt Highberger,
Holy Cow, look at that braid...you just couldn't stay away from the Action. So glad you came home safe! And you fit in your uniform too!
