ALL New Connections - Back by Popular Demand! I'm still receiving some great photos from all you RP Members. THANKS!
Keep them coming!
All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

My pleasure COL Mikel J. Burroughs. I'm glad I have some to share. Most everything was burned or ruined by a house fire we had in 1996.

Not my first but the oldest I can find. Still looking for my 86 Airborne School pix. This is around 92, E-5 or E-6 at Makua Valley Live Fire Range in Hawaii.

CW3 Douglas Branson,
I was in the 25th INF Div - and recognized this place immediately. So, of course, I had to post a reply picture of Pohakuloa Live Fire Range on the Big Island. LOL This was back in 1975 or so. I think yours is better, and in color! Smiles, SGT Hughes

Feb. 1976. That's me in the middle, just coming out of the gas chamber. Our platoon put our gas masks on outside... wasn't it like less than 15 seconds to put on and clear them? ...then they had us go in this room and line up inside against the wall. We then had to pull off our gas masks and inhale. You couldn't leave the room until you did...a good punch in the stomach by a DI made sure you did breathe in. They wanted you to taste the effect of gas and how horrible it was. It was as bad as they warned it would be...you couldn't do anything but gasp, choke, some chucked up, snot was coming out your nose...it stung like hell, it was hard to see. We all took better care of our gas masks after that! Later on one our field marches they threw gas canisters in our ranks and we had to put them on for real.

SPC Garson,
At least you were standing up! I was bent over double puking - I was a bit of a "lip off" type so the kept me in a bit longer. Good Training. LOL It seems we all shared the experience. Have a great day. SGT Hughes

SPC Steve Garson
SPC Woody Bullard The photo was enshrined in our end of cycle memory book. I'm sure the DI's had a chuckle when they put it in.

SPC Steve Garson - I know. I don't know how many times I stood at attention at the base of a tree- looking up and saying : "Who Me? My feet don't fit no limb." LOL
