"If my kid can't bring peanut butter to school, you cant bring your unvaccinated kid to school."
Aaaaand go!
Really look forward to MAJ (Join to see)'s thoughts based on his background.
Similar too many of the ‘unproven’ claims that have somehow received compensation from the government, my little brother had a negative reaction to (one or the combination of) his early childhood vaccine series. After this reaction, we observed a notable decline in speech and social development. My friend’s father, a post-Vietnam veteran, is 100% disabled from a combination of vaccines during his service. I personally had a negative reaction to the smallpox or anthrax vaccine (received at the same time). In addition to my reaction, it is more than likely the chronic illness I have is related to this vaccination and/or environmental exposure in Iraq. Here’s some more interesting information, doctors don’t know what actually causes any of these medical problems. So how can they say that a vaccination could not be an environmental trigger? Insert the origin of the universe debate here for an example of the chaos that ensues when people use ‘factual evidence’ to argue something that no one has ever observed and therefore cannot know without a fraction of a doubt.
Here’s the harsh reality, you are responsible for your child’s health and safety, not me, not your neighbor, not the mailman, you! Shocking, I know. Since I know I’m responsible for my child, I will take precautions to protect them from children who are basically a walking disease, from vaccines that can cause medical conditions, from drowning or getting hit by a car. I’ll teach them how to swim, to not play in the road, to wear proper safety equipment. I’ll weigh the risks of all vaccines. I’ll keep them home from school when they are sick, because I’m conscience enough to not be the parent whose kid infects everyone else in the school. My child’s safety is not an inconvenience.
If you want to fight to keep unvaccinated kids out of schools go ahead, but be prepared to fight against smoking on public streets that can cause an asthmatic reaction in another kid. Fight the fast food industry for making your child obese. Fight the airlines that unwittingly allowed an Ebola-infected passenger on the plane. The world isn’t a safe place, we take risks every day. You vaccinate or don’t vaccinate your kid, it’s a choice and you accept the risks. Last I checked, this was America, we claim freedom and opportunity for all. So when someone else doesn’t make the same choice as you, what message are you sending when you advocate against their freedom to choose?
Italy has ruled that multiple vaccines have caused autism: http://healthimpactnews.com/2015/u-s-media-blackout-italian-courts-rule-vaccines-cause-autism/
Another study argues that some children have a genetic predisposition for autism that is trigged through an environmental reaction (vaccines): http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21623535
CDC Scientist William Thompson's (2004 Study Retracted) says there is no 'casual' link, but admits the possibility that underlying biological illness (that the medical community is unwilling to test for prior to vaccination) could interact with vaccines to cause autism: http://sharylattkisson.com/cdc-possibility-that-vaccines-rarely-trigger-autism/
Another 22 published studies show possible connections (haven't looked at all of them to see which are retracted) http://www.activistpost.com/2013/09/22-medical-studies-that-show-vaccines.html
U.S. Media Blackout: Italian Courts Rule Vaccines Cause Autism
Both these Italian court decisions break new ground in the roiling debate over vaccines and autism. These courts, like all courts, are intended to function as impartial, unbiased decision makers. The courts’ decisions are striking because they not only find a vaccine-autism causal link, but they also overrule the decisions of Italy’s Ministry of Health. And taken together, the court decisions found that both the MMR and a hexavalent...
With regards to the Italian Court Case. Please take a look at this article from Forbes.

Court Rulings Don't Confirm Autism-Vaccine Link
Even if for obscure reasons you want to rely only on court rulings, what we have here is a ruling against cause in three cases versus a ruling for cause in one case. That's a 3:1 win for
1) They are actively attempting to research things that will affect their child's long term health (at the expense of everyone else's).
2) Vaccines are produced by corporations which are profit oriented, and it can be said they don't have our best interests at heart. However, I'll happily pay lots of money not to get get diseases that cause things like blindness, death, paralysis, etc.
3) Yes, there are potential side effects (no Autism is not one of them). However, the side effects are often significantly "better" than having the disease. If given the choice between Autism and long term effects of Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Whooping Cough, Shingles/Chicken Pox, Pneumonia, JEV, etc, which would you choose?
Help me out? I can't think of any more off the top of my head.
Clearly, they aren't researching things that will affect their children's health...because measles and polio are much more dangerous than getting the vaccines.
Good God, we have become a nation of fools and cowards.
The "vaccines cause autism (etc)" crowd is currently real quiet at diseases that were rarely seen when I was a kid - aside from Chicken Pox, that is -are suddenly running amok around the country. Diseases that kill people. Mumps is a drag. Chicken Pox, an inconvenience. Rubella can and does kill, as does measles albeit more rarely.
The paralell from my childhood was the flouride treatments we got. Some parents would opt out because flouride was "dangerous", even though it had been added to drinking water for many years. In my class there were two kids who didn't take the weekly rinse of flouride mouthwash stuff. As with any schoolroom, when one kid is different, they get picked on, completely unfairly. And for what? So mommy can feel better because she read on the internet a conspiracy theory that Mercury in thermometers or arsenic in treated wood or (blah, blah) was a danger to the kids, so we MUST keep them safe. Watch your kid get quarentined with the measels and we will see where your principled stand got you.
When government (federal, state, or local) begins mandating things before long term studies can be properly vetted, there will always be unintended consequences.

CDC - Dental Fluorosis - Safety - Community Water Fluoridation - Oral Health
The proper amount of fluoride helps prevent and control tooth decay in children and adults. Fluoride works both while the teeth are developing and every day after the teeth have emerged through the gums. Fluoride consumed during tooth development can also result in a range of visible changes to the enamel surface of the tooth. These changes have been broadly termed dental fluorosis, or dental fluorosis.
I will always try my best to make good calls and moves for the sake of my children. Will it always be "the best" for them? No, but I will still try to do the best for them.
I don't know what is best for them on this topic, but my wife seems to think she does. So I trust my partner for life's opinion. She got them vaccinated, and they seem like normal crazy kids.
Good luck at trying to do the best for your kids, and try to understand that that is what most people are trying to do( even if their best sucks).
