A former Soldier sent me an add for this "great deal" and asked what I thought of it? I clicked on it and it has a couple pictures of some cool guy stuff and so I decided to check it out (compared against my headlight)....it is underperforming as compared to my headlight, let alone my flashlight! Just wanted to put this out there, buyer beware, there are much better tactical lighting systems available....while the timing is perfect for those looking for a great gift for the Law Enforcement Officer/Service Member/Firemen in their lives, I suggest you do some research before spending your $$ on one of these.

Still hard to beat Surefire or Pelican! Fenix, Streamlight and Nite Ize aren't bad either. Seems like everyone has a tactical flashlight these days. Next best thing to carry with your EDC knife is a good flashlight. Folks need to be careful of these so called next best thing sales! Stick with what you know and have experience using. Just my .02!

Thanks for the warning. At that price for a flashlight however, it was not a temptation for me.

It is crazy, do some google searches, you can spend a pretty penny on a flashlight. I won't tell you (or my wife) how much my the light for my 1911 cost...

I can not confirm or deny....lol! If you have a 1911, I have a Streamlight TRL-2 on it and it is awesome (or should I say "tacticool").

GIMMICK! Watch out for this underperforming product "$200 Military Flashlight Surplus Dumped to the Public" not the best bang for your buck!

The flashlights I get from COSTCO are fine for my retired life. The brands Top Borders mentioned are hard to beat for Mil use. That said, my K-Bar won't get a substitute any time soon.

My go to tactical light? Old fashioned right angle red lens. It's the perfect amount of light, and nobody takes them from ya. Lost my Pelican less than two weeks into pre-mob.

Right there with ya! Although I find in a pinch that my $2 flashlight from Harbor Freight works just fine

That sucks, Soldiers are the worst sometimes. I lost my Oakley's and my boony in Afghanistan while washing my hands for chow, turned around and they were gone...

Very nice choice, if you've used it I'd like to hear your personal review. I have a very similar model but with the thumb screw mount adapter....it was a little less than the price of your scout.

CSM Michael J. Uhlig - I have several variants of surefire products. The rifle I built and continue to use in CQB environments I have removed the remote Pressure switch given the use. Weight is pain, so this particular adaption I have kept under 7lbs. This rifles parts are Spikes Tac, Daniels Def with a 1 / 7 right hand twist (This is milspec) as I use XM855 5.56x45 62g ammo on all my rifles. Here is a pic of one rifle using an older surefire with a quick detach. On my SCAR 16S I have the newer variant with the pressure switch. I typically use this rifle at greater distances given the Trij ACOG, it is capable of CQB as there is a Trij RMR attached on top. This rifle weighs in at around 10lbs. Both rifles triggers have been re-worked from the 10 to 12lb pull to 2.5lb pull. Ounce again the Rifle lights are really a personal option and what is most comfortable for you and the purpose of the rifle. JMO. Quality of the lights is impeccable, rough service not a problem, wet or water use not a problem. I hope this gives you a better view / review as you have asked. Enjoy!

Supposedly, it is 700 lumens...don't ever depend on a companies video. Really though, the 'best' flashlight depends on what you are using it for. My favorite "everyday use" flashlight is my Novatac SPL-120 (that being said, I have a mount that I can mount it on my AR when I need to). It is 120 lumens, but I absolutely love it! I also have a Streamlight TLR-2 (630 lumens) for my 1911 and it is equally awesome.

You can find those on Amazon. I have a two very similar flashlights on my road bike. I hardly paid anything for them.

Anybody foolish enough to pay $55 for a military surplus $200 flashlight could be a sucker CSM Michael J. Uhlig. $200 military flashlights remind of some of the outrageous prices for toilets, wrenches, etc. which were included in large military contracts from teh past decade.
I hope that the gullible and naive do not fall for this gimmick. Put as PT Bailey said a sucker is born every minute. You can fool virtually everybody some of teh time and some people all of the time [paraphrases]. Lets hope for more discernment among the public and veterans.

LTC Stephen F., the claim is it's a $200 military flashlight that you can buy from them in the neighborhood of $55.....my caution is that even for that price (regardless of the claim), there are much better performing tactical lights available (not to mention some are even made in the USA) at better prices or nearly the same price.
