Have you heard about the 'secret agreement' between Iran and the United Nations?

An AP report has revealed that the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency has agreed with Iran that Iranian experts and equipment will be used to inspect Iran's Parchin military site, located not far from Tehran, where Iran is suspected of conducting covert nuclear weapons activity more than a decade ago.
According to a draft document viewed by AP, Iran has agreed to cooperate with the U.N. in answering longstanding allegations about possible past work to develop nuclear weapons at its Parchin plant — but only with the Iranians conducting the inspections themselves. Iran would collect its own environmental samples on the site and carry out other work usually done by IAEA experts. The IAEA will be able to review the Iranians' work after the fact. The deal on Parchin was between the IAEA and Iran. The Obama Administration was not a direct party to the agreement, but apparently was aware of it.
Opponents of the broader deal are seizing an opportunity to say the entire exercise of negotiating with Iran is flawed, that it relies too much on trust of the Iranian government.
The Obama administration, on the other hand, says the wider agreement is focused on the future, with ample inspections, and that the side accord between Iran and the IAEA is focused on Iran's activities in the past and therefore is not central to the overall deal.

GySgt Wayne A. Ekblad Even if this deal was half as good as the POTUS and Democrats think it is, I beleive it will go down in history as one of the biggest mistakes the United States made. I base this on all the negative reporting that it is receiving. Our President is not running the country today or tomorrow. He is chasing his tail trying to perform "damage control" on something that was not put together as well as it should of. I believe his intentions were there, but he had the wrong person or people negotiating at the table. This is just my personal thoughts on the matter.

What do you expect from the UN, expect waffling and caving in when the going gets tough.
This agreement authorizes the Foxes to both guard and inspect the hen house and then the "watchdog" agency the IAEA will take the Iranian reports as the gospel truth GySgt Wayne A. Ekblad. Sad but not unexpected :-)

What I expect from the UN it seems is the meaningless crap the seem to accept on a regular basis. Its to bad the UN is proving just as ineffective if not more than its predecessor the League of Nations. With current events now in 2018 it seems there is a lot of unrest inside Iran from its own population vs the Islamist extremist government that currently controls the country. This situation in Iran is not better than the situation with Korea and nut jobs running both countries !

Are we looking at ratification backwards? The President needs Congress to ratify a treaty. (They may call it a "deal" to avoid the ratification requirement, but a treat is what it is.) How can the President veto a bill to ratify if one never goes to the White House? There is no requirement to send a bill of non-ratification...
