I would stand up for those that were getting bullied at school. This quality has impacted my life.

When my parents got divorced at a very young age - that set me on a course to do just the opposite. I recently celebrated 20 years with my wife as a testimony to the impact that had on me! Looking forward to the next 20, too!

Ma'am,
The events that i encountered/endured while growing up caused me to be socially stunted. Meaning when i joined the army i had to learn how to make friends and be part of a group.

SGT Matthews:

I understand completely, and I applaud you and others on overcoming the obstacles in life that you had no control over. Even as a Chaplain, I have my socially stunted moments and those that are genuine nudge me to play well with others!

Rally Post:

I want all to know that pain, purpose, and passion go hand in hand. Find that Battle, that will encourage you and take those baby steps to re-train yourself.

You are an overcomer, and through perseverance and endurance you can change your thought process. When you change your thought process, you change your behavior!

I was kind to my daughter even though there is a very negative person who likes to get his way. Knowing that I have no malice per se, but am sad at what he did tonight.

Wow Captain,
Tough question to ask a bunch of "Warriors" who are very reluctant to ever show any signs of weakness. Childhood Trauma or painful moments and you want then to talk about that in an open forum? Might Happen.

My childhood taught me to not stop trying. To never give up no matter how little your parents really seemed to support you. If you set your sights on something you CAN achieve it, no matter how hard it seems to be, by doing it one step or one day at a time. Eventually you will achieve your goal.

I always knew I could get a degree if I applied myself. It took 38 years from High School Graduation to my College Degree, but I made it. More importantly, I used my degree after I Earned It!

Master Chief:

Tough questions drive action, and I wanted to create hope, in such as a time as this. I wanted those that are reading this post to know what ever happened in your childhood you can triumph and overcome.

I thank you for your transparency and my hopes are that others read this post know they are not alone. Take those defining moments that shape you and use them to climb out and set your sights on the future.

Blessings to you

V/R
