In your opinion, should rally point let people get more influence points if they log daily and do some activities on the website?

So now that your influence score goes up every time someone views your profile, I want to take the time to clarify why it is I have viewed your profile.
And as always, I am just being honest :)

1. I want to know your credentials
2. I forget what your credentials are after 7 seconds and need to refresh my memory
3. I think you're hot
4. You're a woman who looks prettier than me
5. Anyone who is Special Forces...just because I look at your assignments and picture you being all Rambo and well...that's just fun for me.

If you get Influence Points for interacting whether it is building your profile. endorsing others, creating and responding to discussions, etc.

Daily activity can create more pts than viewing once in awhile.

Basically they reward for participating in discussions, which increase content (hopefully good).

Participating in discussion is helpful for the mind..... not only for you, but a person that you're communicating with....

How do influence points work on RallyPoint?

In order for RallyPoint to continue to be a useful tool to everyone, we need to have active members on the site. So yeah, as a daily user, I don't see anything wrong with getting more points for my commenting, liking, viewing, and other actions done on this site. But again, this site is not some place to race for first place. It isn't about the points, it's about helping each other and staying connecting and building your network. You are just rewarded in the form of points for the positive things you do on site.

...one of the best responses I've read so for, and I couldn't agree more - thank you SGT! Now all we need is to discipline those who try to misuse the site for political pissing contests (in other words, I enthusiastically support your reference to "positive things" - I agree 100%)
Warriors Forever!

PS: yes, I did see how old this is - but I've only been on the site a couple of months and saw it a bit ago for the first time. If no one cares anymore so be it - no worries.

When I first noticed, I was dumbfounded, so I tried to post a discussion to ask about it. I couldn't, I didn't have enough points to start a discussion... :-)

Thanks for checking it out Sir.

It does! The more you participate the more points you get. Are you really just on here for points?

I think you missed the heart of most arguments here; people DO contribute and they DO get "points" from it. Therefor what is it you'd like to change and why.

oh so you want others to get more points?!?!? (sarcasm) The point we are trying to make is this: Participate more (like multiple times a day) you get more points, participate less (like once a week) you get less points. I don't need points to make me want to contribute to this site. If I can share knowledge I have gained over the last 15 years that is rewarding enough for me.

When I first joined Rally Point I was pretty active, I've since taken a back seat to a lot of discussions. I mostly disagree with people endorsing service members they've never actually served with. I see some folks with 20 endorphinsand have never actually served with them. I enjoy Rally Point but I've only endorced people I've worked with.

But, I retired....what will I do with promotion points? :) Remember, someday you will be in the PX making the line long at 1030 and 1300! Because time of day does not matter...to retirees.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint - Obviously, as a retiree, your Influence Points should be added to your "Vet Hat" in increments of 1000. When you go to the PX, your can use that influence point indicator to cut the line in front of other retirees with fewer influence points. It's only fair.
