How many of you have service tattoos? And what are your thoughts on them?

Most recent tattoo regulation is nothing that shows in the ACU's with sleeves down. Essentially not on the neck or above or wrist and below.

Sgt Seth Welch. the tat you posted reminded me of a question posed to a Vietnam door gunner. How can you shoot kids and women? His answer was you just have to lead them a little more. OK, done with the gallows humor.

All right, now a new opinion, if, in today’s environment with all the body art, you want to overlook some of our finest leaders employment, shame on you. And I don’t think they are a good thing to do to your body.

PO2 David Dunlap - Well, apparently I'm a pagan then! Pretty sure the rest of my life will supercede my pagan ways.

I have 2 myself and my personal opinion is they shouldn't be viewable with any type of uniform on. I have nothing against them but to me nothing looks tackier then seeing a service member in a sharp well put together uniform and then have tats showing or parts of a tat showing. You can honor your unit, your battle buddies, whatever but be discreet about it. That's my 2cents worth.

I have three and all are connected to my military service. Actually one is a memorial to all who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I'm working on my concept for my next one. And since I'm retired don't have to worry if they show.

I have two. Both are cover-able. But are proudly displayed when appropriate.

I have no tattoos and never will. I have my own personal reasons, but having said that I don't have a problem at all if someone wants to get service tattoos. It means they are proud of what they have done and rightfully so. The military life is not an easy one. And then there are those like I have read about ( MSgt (Join to see) ) that are memorials. That I can TOTALLY respect! Everyone has their reasons for getting them and everyone has their ways of remembering the fallen. :)

Never had one. Never had the urge to get one. Seen some good ones but seen a lot that just go over board and look stupid regardless of the skilled artwork.

I with you MSG (Join to see). Don't have one and never will. I've seen some I liked and some that were over the top. To each his own, I guess.
