How many "retired reserve" members received a certificate of retirement?

That's exactly what I did since I also retired out of the IRR.

I sent 4 e-mails to to the Ft Jackson Retirement Services Office over the last 3 years requesting the retirement package consisting of certificates and flag. I wanted these items for my family as keepsakes since I never got a retirement ceremony or retirement award from my unit. I was medically retired as an O-4 with almost 25 years of service. I never expected a retirement award, but would really like the certificates. What do I need to do from here?

MAJ Senz you should contact HRC retiree services to request certificate as well as online request to POTUS and Governor. Requests are handled in 30 days

I was IRR and didn't have enough points to qualify for a COE ... although I finished 12+ years. There are NG that are eligible and only have 6 months but were activated for COVID.

LTC Stephen F. long story, but it was ok by me. I was about to drop a packet anyway. The docs had grounded me and taken me off jump status. I wasn’t ready to drive a desk and was going to focus on my civilian career (I retired from the Reserves)

MAJ (Join to see) - I had a similar situation. In 2010, I had just left mobilization status and had completed my annual physical pending a renewal of my mobilization orders (I had been mobilized or extended every year since 2002). Because the VA and DoD had joined processes, to ensure disability ratings could be reported quicker, all of my VA disabilities now became available to DoD. As such, my military evaluation placed me on permanent profiles and since, I was in the IRR, USARC thought it best to conduct an Retention Board. Without notice, I received discharge orders (not retirement orders) after serving 32 years. Thankfully, I had enough connections and knowledge of the regulations to know this was wrong. So, in a month's time, my medical records were forwarded to a Physical Evaluation Board, documenting my profile status and recommending retention. As a result, my discharge was revoked and I was mobilized for another 2 years before I transferred to a Reserve unit for my final 2 years. By 2014, I decided that I had had enough of the quarterly sensitivity training that had replaced Army readiness training and popped smoke.

During this time, I had another Reservist contact me after she had returned from Afghanistan and was discharged. While serving in a mobilization status, she had crossed sanctuary and had completed 20 years of Active Federal Service. However, since she had been mobilized from a TPU status, the Army decided to discharge her. It took me about a month to help her informed the Army that they were in error and the only legal method for her to leave active duty was Active retirement or medical retirement. So, they put her back on Active Duty at Fort Benning to complete her retirement out-processing. Again, it helped to know the system.

My only concern was for those, who didn't know the system, didn't have the right connections and just accepted the erroneous decision of HRC or USARC or NGB. I always wonder how many Reserve and National Guard people get screwed out of pay and benefits because they don't recognize the error or just give in.
