I am being told to go to PT by the command on only 4-5 hours of sleep. As a junior enlisted, how do I solve this problem?

We have a new 1SG and new commander. The 1SG noticed one day that only 5 people in the whole company showed up to PT. Now he put out to all the platoon Sergeants that everyone must show up to PT at either the 0530 formation or the 1600 formation.
However, my section is the only one in the hospital that has a 1600-0000 shift. I am being told by my first line that the 1SG says that I have to be at the morning formation, no exceptions.
I don’t want to sound like I’m whining but at the same time it’s unfortunate that I have to explain to myself as to why this isn’t right.
As a junior enlisted I do feel stuck.
How do I bring this issue up and solve this effectively and professionally?
Also: Do you know of any Army Regulations that can support anything?

Oh my God! I can't believe this. Grow up if you're in the Army. I think you wouldn't make the grade in either the " Black Boot" Army, and especially the older "Brown Boot" Army. Be a soldier and suck it up!! Make sure you boots are spit shined, and gig line is straight for starters

Ask that there be a 1500 PT since your shift begins at 1600. I would bet the ISGT and COmmander were not thinking of the Split Shifts when the times were announced. I used to work Split Shifts and got screwed a lot until I realized my Seniors were all Day Workers and did not realize that Shift workers were getting screwed a lot of the time. Make your case and see what happens. Be professional and don't WINE like this!
Sometime DAY Shifts Screw the Night shifts without thinking!

4 to 5 hours of sleep is normal sleep hours at sea... not sure why you think it's a problem.

You know how you solve this problem? You go to PT.
"This one time in combat ..." I made my troops conduct an early morning operation in response to enemy activity after none of us had slept for 2 days. It sucked, but you suck it up. Only the living are able to do that.

I'm a retired Air Force member, so don't hate..I see you have at least 2 options. One is stay awake till PT, then come in from PT and go to sleep. 2. take a nap from time you get home after shift, then go to PT, after PT go to sleep till you have to get up for work.. I was in several RPA squadrons, which were 24/7 units, so I know the pain in the ass it can be doing shift work. I really don't understand the 8 hr shifts.. Even the AF had 12 hr shift, for ER, and Hospital side.. Now we did have some day walkers working only 8 hr shifts, they worked Mon- Friday.. I will just about bet you are working 5 days a week on your 8 hr shift, I would much rather work 12 hr shifts and work less days. Are you switching shifts or Hard scheduled shifts, ie do you work 6 weeks of days, 6 weeks second shift and then 6 weeks of nights? Is everyone on all shifts passing PT? Got to look at the other side of the coin, probably having issues, with your shift, or having issues with all the shifts.. I hate the mentality of punish everyone for one or two people making mistakes, but that also happens.

The Army is only required to give you 4 hours of sleep, and that doesn't even have to be 4 consecutive hours. You may not want to sound like you're whining...but you're whining.
