If a POG, awarded with a CAB (combat action badge), were to transfer to Infantry, would the soldier be authorized to wear the CIB?

No. Plain and simple. The CAB is the badge they where awarded. The soldier didn’t meet the criteria for a CIB at the time the award was earned. The end.
I know personally know 11 series personnel that where awarded CABs, for the reason that they where not assigned to infantry units while in theater.
The criterion for CIB is: 11 or 18 series MOS, assigned to a designated infantry or SF unit. In a designated award conflict, personally present in combat.
A non 11/18 series soldier that earned a CAB then transfers to an 11/18 series MOS has the award they have.

Hmmm so what MOS was the POG? And technically, soldier wouldn’t be a POG anymore cause soldier earned CAB right?

Still a POG, obviously, since just having a CAB doesn't make you a grunt. What a POG thing to think lol

If I am correct Tankers get CAB's , But the CAV scots and the Mechanized Infantry get the CIB's.

SGT Charles Bartell - No, CIB is Infantry, serving in Infantry slot only. CAB is for everyone else directly engaged with the enemy. This can also mean an 11B who was not in an infantry slot, would get the CAB, not CIB.

Meanwhile in other breaking news at the Outhouse Legal Services LLC, PVT Snuffy wants to know how many Commanders coins does he need to cash in for an ARCOM? Answer after the 9:00 AM formation. Seriously, that will never happen. To wear Infantry stuff, you need to be one first, not after the fact.

Once you are awarded the CAB you are entitled to wear it forever. You would have to be awarded the CIB to wear it. You may not wear it unless it has been awarded to you.

No. The soldier has to be in CMF 11 or 18, in the unit and in combat with the unit in order to earn a CIB. While some might find the question foolish, it's better to be certain of one's understanding.

A soldier who won the EIB and go through the testing. His Cib would be awarded due to combat action that he be came envoled.

Am I missing something here? It used to be only 11B and 11C were authorized to wear CIB.

You're not missing anything. Most Special Forces soldiers have always be authorized to earn a CIB or CMB because of having either a primary or secondary 11B, 11C or 91B. Since 1983, all CMF18 are authorized CIB. 18D (SF Medic can elect to receive and wear either a CIB or CMB).

I believe they would have had to be in the Infantry unit and engaged in combat with them to earn the CIB, ie; a Medic in that scenario could earn it that way. I don't have the regs in front of me. But I think it's something like that.

Only SF medics can accept and wear a CIB. They have the option of either a CMB or CIB. All other medics assigned/attached to Infantry would only be authorized a CMB.
