Robbing Peter to pay Paul. No matter how you slice it, there is only 24hrs a day. Pretty stupid changing around if you ask me. This is the logic I think of when thinking of changing time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fkqg6HE888A

If people want to get up an hour earlier and do everything an hour earlier throughout the day, then go for it. By all means shift your routine by an hour. But why do have to pretend that the time is an hour later than it actually is? I hate daylight savings time.

I don't work on a farm, but I appreciate the ability to get home after work and still get work done outside for a few hours after dinner. The extra hour of daylight (after work) is also nice for summer recreation activities. You can water ski in the dark, but the floating log will get you every time.

I agree, Sir, that's why I say we should STAY on DLS 365... why "fall back" in the fall. Have the best of both worlds. I say bump it up another 30 minutes (so instead of it being 12:00 noon right now, it would be 12:30) and leave it there for a few centuries...

Most people I talked to said they don't like it. Arizona and Hawaii don't observe it. Even the farmers don't care for it and that is what it was intended for when first instituted.

It is an idea that has outlived it usefulness and the practice should be stopped ! It no longer serves any purpose at all.

They should spring forward, fall back one last time, and then stop it.

May have made sense pre-1900s but as we shifted to a manufacturing economy it makes no sense. Serves absolutely no purpose in 2017.

It was necessary for the farming community but that seems to be a lesser reason anymore, since more and more foods are processed and the AG industry isn't what it used to be.

Exactly, it was good for an agrarian population , but we have not been that for a long time.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Exactly, even farms of today are more like factories than when the time changes started and made sense.

Whatever time change we are *CURRENTLY* in is the one to keep! Later sunsets, not earlier sunrises. I am done with getting up at oh-dark-thirty.

I don't know if it took my original response or not, so forgive me if this double posts: I think the clocks should be moved forward another 30 - 60 minutes, and then we never monkey with them again, at least not for a few dozen decades.
