My friend Sgt Keith Bodine posted a similar question which was merged. Therefore in honor of his post, I am broadening this discussion from Syrian refugees to all refugees fleeing violence in North Africa and throughout the Middle east. Granted terrorists and radicals will do there best to merge with refugees wherever they are exported to. However there are many refugees who have experienced complete upheaval of their lives including brutal loss of family members, all their belongings and the graves of their ancestors.
There will certainly be risks associated with refugee influx to any nation: construction of suitable camps; care and feeding costs; language barriers; security for, from and between the refugees; plan to relocate the refugees and integrate them into the nation; education and work opportunities, etc.
The UN will be expected to help. Since the USA provides a significant amount of the funding of UN activities and administrative costs, we may be expected to foot a large share of the bill indirectly. Granted the costs may be relatively low and may be passed to future generations.
All in all I think the idea to extract the refugees from the middle east and disperse them to other nations. Some will want to become citizens of the nations they are relocated to. However I expect many will dream of one day returning to a much more peaceful homeland and the land of their ancestors.

Thanks LTC Stephen F.. Yes, they may eventually want to relocate here in the U.S. I'm wondering if they will be accepted or rejected. Like I wrote earlier, they are not like the Mexicans crossing our border. They don't want to leave their homes, and are being forced out, or be killed. In yesterday's news, there were five life rafts trying to cross the ocean. Each one had about 40 people in them. Someone wearing all black went to each raft and cut the fuel lines. Luckily the Turks towed them to shore. It wasn't where they were heading, but at least they all lived.

What really frost my ass is that we take in all of these refugees from all over the globe. Sure we do because we are good humanitarians but in doing so, we also take in terrorist who slide in among these refugees. And what I don't understand is that we do this and we can't even take care of our own homeless veterans. How many Americans do we have right now who are hungry, cold , wet, sick and homeless and why aren't we taking care of them before bringing in these refugees. We should be taking care of our own first before spending millions of dollars on refugees. When are we finally going to get it right, anyway. Don't are fellow less fortunate Americans come before anyone else from other Countries? WTF-Over. This refugee thing is a real can of worms and we have our own cluster fu-k that we can't even clean up?
