Should these recent events disqualify him?
1. He took classified documents and stored them in unlocked rooms.
2. He had dinner with two known antisemitic men.
3. He is now talking about suspending the Constitution.

Should he disqualify himself? In 2020 he said Biden was too old to become President. If Trump is reelected in 2024, he will be five months older than the age Biden was in 2020.

Speaking as someone who does not want him to run, I will still address your points. However, whether I vote for him or not, which is really the question, depends on the candidate the Dems put up should Trump win the nomination (which I do not think he will this time around).

1. He did not "take" classified documents, he retained them and fought with the Library of Congress as to whether he could continue holding on to them. The documents were not left in an unlocked room, that is a complete mischaracterization of the information released. They were stored in his resort in offices not accessible to anyone without authorization and he still has Secret Service personnel providing security to his Mara Lago resort. To say they were unprotected is a farce. Had this been the case, the FBI would have retrieved them a long time ago.

2. Maybe so and the facts are still coming out about that. Having dinner with antisemitic people does not make one antisemitic. You do know his son-in-law and his daughter are Jewish right? I assume you also noted his support to Israel as President right? The fact is, we have no idea how the dinner played out, what happened, what they may have talked about, etc. This is why it is important to get all the facts before judging people.

3. Trump, as usual, spoke irrationally and I personally think he never meant "suspend the Constitution" as he was referring to rules in general on the Twitter topic. He's frustrated about Twitter's actions to suppress information and rightfully so. However, the way he articulates his frustration and such is what I take issue with. Not because I believe he wants to do away with the Constitution. There are plenty of folks on the left who want to do away with all kinds of parts of the Constitution (Right bear arms, Electoral College, some even want to allow children and illegal immigrants to vote). What Trump said in typical Trump fashion, not separating and qualifying his statements, was stupid and yes, it is a big reason why I do not want him to run.

With that said, I will not be voting for him in the Primaries. The General election has yet to be determined, but a second term for Biden I believe will be much worse. Either way, we'd be screwed, which is why I say it is time for the American people to start promoting my generation (X) and end the Baby Boomer era of control over the office of the President (and several other significant positions). It's not their age I'm concerned about so much (although Biden absolutely looks like he doesn't know where he is or what he's doing), it's their ability to grasp today's issues and resonate better with the American people. Trump and Biden are both set in their ways and way too polarizing, so I have little desire to see either of them continue. There are better options out there. But if you think Trump or even Biden will "disqualify" themselves, I don't think you understand these people that well. In the end, even two new candidates will be turned into polarizing figures, but I didn't like either one of these two before they chose to run from President. Finally, if you're going to use those three points to call for Trump to disqualify himself, have you ever put thought to Biden's questionable actions and statements? They're essentially two peas in the same pod.

Funny thing, he was President - and is still to be addresssed as such, like a physician. Let's see what awful things he did...kept North Korea in line, made the US energy sufficient, set up a special hotline for veterans having difficulty dealing with the VA. There's more, but I'm at least willing to give a few points, unlike yourself.

Never should be allowed to step foot on Capitol grounds. January 6th. As a veteran I watch that whole thing live and was pissed off and even more livid when the cowardly republicans denied it was a riot caused by Humpty. Any veteran who agrees with that coward is a traitor themselves. He has betrayed our country and we have become weaker because of his lack of leadership.

I have read many responses to this question and I am astounded at the political apathy shown by many members here. First of all, is this a question that should be asked or answered by some you who are currently serving? Traditionally our military has been non-political. When its members start actively expressing political viewpoints, unit cohesion begins to suffer. How would you trust a member with whom you serve but is of the opposite view as you and is very vocal about it?
Secondly, did any of you even bother to research this topic before posting your comments? What I have read so far can be summed-up as a shrill temper-tantrum. Boiler-plate statements may work well with those who support you but perhaps they should be supported with facts.
Thirdly, I noticed the shocking ignorance of how our Constitution actually works. All of you should have learned this in high school by now. I could spend a very long time discussing this one aspect but suffice it to say, please go back and reread the Constitution and what powers have been assigned to each of the branches of government.
I am old enough to remember the end of the Vietnam War and to have seen the slow polarization of our society. Since 1992, our nation has drifted apart politically. The passing of the WW2 threat since 1991(i.e., the Cold War). A generation of leaders (baby-boomers) have taken over the reins of government and is now slowly passing the torch to Generation X. The Cold War (with the USSR) was replaced by terrorists. For the next 30 yrs., we fought small-wars throughout the world. Now we face the rise of China and an ultra-nationalist in Russia (Putin). Yet we are bitterly divided at home.
For those of you who have read this far, I appreciate your patience. I would like to respond to the original question. I will address each point individually.
He took classified documents and stored them in unlocked rooms: Presidential Executive Order 13526 lays out the procedures by which National Security Information can be declassified. It would take too long to explain here, so I will list the relevant sections. If you wish to know more about this, I will provide the link below.
The President Executive Order 13526 | National Archives
Section 1: Original Classification
Section 2: Derivative Classification
Section 3: Declassification and Downgrading
Section 4: Safe-guarding
Section 5: Implementation and Review
Section 6: General Provisions.
All Presidents and Vice-Presidents are allowed to review and declassify information, PROVIDED that the above-mentioned procedures have been followed. However, all presidents have utilized the “gray areas,” to obtain data beneficial to them(or whomever they support). If you make the case that Trump was in possession of classified documents AND that they were improperly stored, then that same accusation can be used against former POTUS, Obama and the current CIC as well as his VP. Yet this selective outrage is only against Donald Trump. Furthermore, if you are going to make this accusation, then you need to include former Secretary of State, Hilary R. Clinton, who had her own server in her home where she illegally stored CLASSIFIED data which had been hacked by Russia, China, North Korea, and God only knows who else.
He had dinner with two known antisemitic men. I have a few questions here. Who were these two men? Did he dine with them together or separately? How long ago did this occur? Did he endorse any of their actions?
Those who make these accusations forget that his son-in-law and daughter are both Jewish (the latter by conversion). When he won the presidency, PM Benjamin Netanyahu, was the 1st to congratulate him. Perhaps a case can be made of the sometimes, amateurish way Trump deals with political situations. Then again, he is an outsider and NOT a professional politician. That infuriates those in Congress (both Democrat and Republican). In the end, this accusation is just another weapons, his enemies use to tear him down.
He is now talking about suspending the Constitution. This absurdity was taken from a comments Trump made about Elon Musk releasing data that showed Twitter had suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story. His exact words are posted below.
Some of the responses on this thread are childish and ill-informed. They ignore history and even reality. Under Trump, our economy was booming. We were, for the 1st time in 70+ years an oil EXPORTER. Putin was reminded that any shenanigans in Syria would be violently dealt with. We did kill 200 Russian troops who were shooting at our soldiers. We had a sort of détente with North Korea and the world was relatively stable.
It is strange that within 2 years, this nation is on the brink of WW3 and is lead by a party that is all-too-eager to start it.

I logged in just so I could upvote your comment. I'd like to add though, that the Clinton "sock drawer" defense is in play regarding the classified documents. So what's good for Clinton is good for Trump. Also, for all of the commenters who insist on following what the TV tells them to believe about Trump, they should also insert any name of the favorite politician and the same applies to them as well.

There's so much to rebut in these comments but I digress. You did an excellent job.

MSG (Join to see) I understand your point. There was a fine line boundary that once existed in our government. Neither side violated it because they knew that if they did, the other side would use it against them when they got into power. The politics of mutually assured revenge existed even before nuclear power.
Yet that boundary (among so many other) was crossed in the past twenty years.

SFC Greg Witte the only "illegal" drop boxes used in the 2020 election were placed by the republican party in California. No qualified and vetted election observers were denied access to the counts. In Detroit people who were not election observers attempted to disrupt the count but were barred. If you have proof of any of your allegations you should have come forward back in 2020, but you didn't so Biden is our president and Trump lost bigly and fairly regardless of his claims of a stolen election.

You are correct that the Wisconsin Supreme court determined ballot drop boxes are not allowed in the state, but Capt Claudia Valentine is also correct about the illegal drop boxes that the Republican Party placed in California in 2020. In Detroit, challengers from both parties were denied entrance because they had exceeded the 134 permitted; some Republicans were removed because they committed offenses against poll workers.

We can put lip stick on a pig and is still a pig. In other words it regardless how you want to paint as to what a person in government handles classified documents STILL a violation. Had it been an insignificant soul that violated basic classified documents protocol, that soul would have been locked up yesterday and there would have been no rebuttal. Seen it happen in my 35 years in the Army. It is obvious that some of you are still in the protective mode of his behavior.
You can’t say that had it been a Democrat you would feel the same, as MSG Sweeney stated, I call that bullshit too.
Trump prides himself in disrupting any normalcy. I have known of Trump’s behavior going back to 75 when I live in NYC.
Dude is mentally sick and he has been very vocal about it and shown it that he will brake the law and is up to you to prove it. He will clog the judicial system with appeals until it runs out of prosecution time and gets dismissed for lack of prosecution. If you support this POS, you are part of the problem as well.

So somehow it was legal for Obama to store classified docs in unsecured places after his presidency (court ruled), but illegal for Trump to store classified docs in secured location. The ruling said the president can claim any papers as personal.

Yet MSG Garcia who claims he's held a TS clearance seems to have no problem in being able to turn a blind eye to the pretty stark violations of National Security committed by both Hillary Clinton and her home made server and our current President who it seems stored classified documents including TS documents in an unsecure garage and other places. These documents were from when old senile Joe was VP and even a Senator. Apparently the good MSG is such a partisan hack that he's willing to over look these cear violations of national security.

Who was the one who recently used taxpayer money to help bailout a number of millionaires during the recent banking crisis? It sure wasn't President Trump! Also how does a President who has never held a decent job in his life except feeding off the government tit become a millionaire oh a government salary having never written a book or anything? Perhaps your the one who need to expand his source oon!n news and see if you can do anything to cure your Trump derangement syndrome, especially when it appears that your the one who may have little going on between those ears son!

Absolutely not, he has been the worst President this country has EVER had a huge threat to our democracy. He is the main reason that the January 6th insurrection happened. Everything he does is corrupt and he has no real morals or values except to himself. The man should be sentenced to life in prison, for all his corruption and criminal actions.

"He has brought the republicans to their knees with his craziness." Unfortunately, we are seeing some of the results with the failed ballots (ten, so far) for Speaker of the House. I am concerned that the Republican party is becoming so much more conservative than in the past, and it seems to be causing the Democrats to become more liberal.
