"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

The SM who deployed earned those patches and are entitled to wear their combat patch. There are various reasons why some SM do not have a combat; 1) just completed AIT, 2) Cannot be deployed OCONUS related to a communicable disease, EFMP issue, etc. What is this Army coming to.

If we do that, we should remove anything which might make others feel left out, medals, ribbons, badges, rank insignia, etc.

My Battalion was detached from our organic Brigade for my OEF tour. When we went to demob we were ordered not to wear our CIBs around the rest of the Brigade, so we wouldn't "offend" them. Not being able to wear recognized awards because of the feelings of others was part of the winding down road to my ETS.

Please don't offend those little crybabies. They might start crying for mommy and get their diapers in a wad. They may also get their thumb infected by forgetting what thumb was in their asshole and which one they were sucking.

This isn’t a participation badge. Those oldiers eraned those badges and some may have given the ultimate sacrifice. The badges serve as a sense of pride, and should serve as a goal to attain rather than a sense of feeling left out. If your young people can’t deal with someone wearing a badge they rightfully earned, how are they going to deal with combat when the time comes? Don’t remove the standard. Set it higher.
